QNAP QGD-1602P: Hybrid NAS/PoE Switch
The QGD-1602P is the world's first smart edge PoE switch that runs QTS and supports virtual machine (VM) hosting. It features 16 PoE ports (8 x 1 GbE and 8 x 2.5 GbE) with 4 x 60 watt PoE++ (Ultra PoE) ports and 12 PoE+ ports as well as two 10 Gbps SFP+. The QGD-1602P provides Layer 2 management capabilities for VM and QTS applications
The QGD-1602P supports Software Defined Networking (SDN), which enables it to function as a NAS, NVR router, firewall and PA controller for IP monitoring, network security, storage expansion and wireless network management applications. As a result, the Guardian Series offers a low-cost, centrally managed network deployment solution for SMBs.
Robust components with Intel QAT
The QGD-1602P uses the Intel Atom C300 series of multicore processors, has two SATA drive bays, and provides two M.2 NVMe SSD slots for SSD cache to increase IOPS performance. Two PCIe Gen3 x4 slots allow users to install 10GbE network cards, QM2 dual-port M.2/10GbE SSDs, USB 3.1 (10Gbps) cards or wireless adapters to boost core functionality. The QGD-1602P also supports Intel® QuickAssist Technology (Intel QAT) to greatly enhance IPsec VPN performance.
High PoE capability
The QGD-1602P is compliant with the latest IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standards, offering 4 ports at 60 watts and 12 ports at 30 watts. The QGD-1602P can provide a total PoE budget of 370 watts to meet the requirements of high power devices (APE), such as IP cameras, wireless APs, IP phones, LEDs and digital signage.
The QGD-1602P supports intelligent PoE management features including scheduling, power prioritization, and power on/off. You can get real-time network connection status and power consumption information from the APEs and simultaneously configure them to promote an energy-efficient PoE network.
AN ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL EXPANSION BOXES
The QGD-1602P is the world's first PoE switch with built-in QTS operating system for VMs, containers and other cloud applications, enabling various networking and storage solutions. In addition to QVR Pro, VJBOD and other various storage applications, the QTS App Center also supports VMs to run many open source software applications, including MikroTik RouterOS, OpenWrt, pfSense and Ubiquiti UniFi.
Integrated with public cloud services, the QGD-1602P meets the needs of various applications in IP monitoring, storage expansion, network security and wireless network management. The dual processor design of QGD-1602P allows you to run the network management interfaces of QNAP Switch System (QSS) and QTS independently.
The QGD-1602P provides an easy-to-use web interface, QuNetSwitch, to help SMBs easily deploy a flexible and secure IT infrastructure.
20GbE internal bandwidth
QTS can directly access and control the data processed in QSS using virtual switches. The QGD-1602P provides 20GbE of internal bandwidth to accelerate computation between terminals and hosts. The two 5GbE host management ports and two Gigabit ports can be connected to multiple hosts to deploy multiple virtual machines.
