The QNAP TS-864eU-RP-8G is a 2U rackmount NAS server equipped with 8 GB RAM (non-expandable), an Intel Celeron Quad-Core N5095 processor, 8 bays for SATA 6 Gbps disks and 2.5 GbE network connectivity. The shallow, compact design makes it easy to install in small multimedia cabinets or locations with lots of cables.

The TS-864eU-RP supports SSD caching(with expansion card not supplied) to improve the workflow of random IOPS-intensive applications such as virtualisation. Qtier technology equips the TS-864eU-RP with automatic tiering that continuously optimises storage utilisation on high-performance SSD and high-capacity SATA drives. Qtier 2.0 includes I/O recognition that allows SSD storage to be prioritised with space reserved as a cache to manage burst I/O in real time, greatly maximising the benefits of SSDs.
