The QNAP TS-832PXU-4G is a 2U rackmount NAS server equipped with 4GB RAM, ARM Cortex-A57 Quad-Core processor, 8 SATA 6Gbps drive bays, 2.5GbE and SFP+ 10Gbps network connectivity. Designed to meet the needs of businesses (VSE, SMB ...), the QNAP TS-832PXU-4G NAS server is versatile, flexible and scalable with its PCIe-Express 2.0 x2 slot.
With 10GbE SFP+ and 2.5GbE network ports, the TS-832PXU delivers high network bandwidth for easy team collaboration and file access. A PCIe 2.0 x2 slot allows for the installation of a QNAP expansion card to add network connectivity, SSD caching capabilities or wireless connectivity. The TS-832PXU supports backup and synchronization, secure snapshot protection, and backup services for Google G Suite and Microsoft 365 business accounts, while providing instant recovery when needed. Combined with support for cloud gateways, setting up a new hybrid cloud storage solution has never been easier.
HBS (Hybrid Backup Sync) consolidates data backup, recovery and synchronisation. With high-speed 10GbE connectivity, you can easily back up or synchronize data to another QNAP NAS, remote server, or cloud storage to establish a reliable disaster recovery solution. Qsync turns the TS-832PXU into a secure and high-capacity data centre for file synchronization. Any file transferred to the TS-832PXU will be made available on all linked devices, such as desktops, laptops and mobile devices. You can also synchronise shared folders or create team folders to enhance team collaboration.
You can easily expand the storage capacity of the TS-832PXU to meet the growing data demands. Simply connect a QNAP TR RAID expansion box or TL JBOD to increase the storage space on demand. With QNAP's Virtual JBOD (VJBOD) technology, the unused space of TS-832PXU can also be used to expand the storage space of another QNAP NAS.

We needed to replace an old Cisco NAS (hardware and Qnap OS) but we didn't need high performance, only backup storage.
It does its job very well, very responsive under QTS 5.0 and scalable if we want to add a controller card to install SSDs.
Too bad the rails are sold separately.
