QNAP GM-1001: 20-bay NAS with redundant power supply and node design
QNAP's GM-1001 3U rackmount NAS features a two-node TNS-h1083X replaceable architecture, which are powered by Intel Xeon E processors and feature 10GbE and 2.5GbE network connectivity. PCIe M.2 interfaces are also included to enable cache acceleration to address performance caps in bandwidth-intensive, low-latency business applications (such as intensive backup and virtualisation). Both TNS-h1083X NAS nodes use the QuTS hero operating system under ZFS.
Redundant and modular design
The GM-1000 comprises an enclosure with two independent NAS nodes. This arrangement provides greater flexibility to maintain and upgrade NAS nodes to meet future performance requirements for backup applications and other business tasks. In addition, it saves money on the system box.
High-performance hardware
Each node of the GM-1001 features an Intel Xeon E-2234 processor (4 cores / 8 threads), with up to 128GB of memory, and a redundant power supply, providing server-grade performance and reliability for enterprise computing environmentsThe GM-1001 uses DDR4 ECC memory that can detect and correct single-bit memory errors as they occur to prevent downtime and data loss, which is critical for mission-critical server applications.
QTS Hero Operating System
The QTS Hero operating system combines application-based QTS with a 128-bit ZFS file system to provide flexible storage management, comprehensive data protection and performance optimised to meet the complexity and performance requirements of modern computing. From storage and virtualization to collaborative multimedia workflows, the QTS hero system simplifies your critical tasks.
PCI-Express expansion card slot
The GM-1001 features 4 PCIe Gen3 slots that allow for the installation of various expansion cards to tailor the NAS usage according to the business needs. Whether it's adding expansion units with a SAS card, increasing bandwidth with a 40GbE card, or adding SSDs for increased cache and performance.
Built for virtualisation
The GM-1001 supports iSCSI LUNs as a high-performance, reliable and affordable storage solution for VMware, Citrix, Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server 2019 virtualisation environments.
It also supports VMware VAAI and Microsof ODX to improve performance by offloading server load for ESXi server and Hyper-V, respectively. QNAP vSphere Client plug-in and Web plug-in are also supported to increase operations and management efficiency in virtualization applications.
