TS-855eU: 2U NAS with 2.5 GbE connectivity and shallow depth
The QNAP TS-855eU-8G is a NAS server in 2U rack format equipped with 8GB of RAM (max. 64GB), an Intel Atom C5125 Octo-Core processor, 8 bays for SATA 6 Gbps disks and 2.5 GbE network connectivity. The shallow, compact design makes it easy to install in small multimedia cabinets or locations with lots of cables.
Shallow 2U design
The TS-855eU has a shallow depth design of just 11.7 inches (297.4 mm), making this NAS server an excellent choice for smaller racks, AV wall cabinets and network cabinets. The space saved by the shallow design can be reserved for cabling or ventilation. The TS-855eU saves space for greater deployment flexibility. It is also particularly well suited to compact offices, audiovisual rooms and video surveillance recording.
Switch to the QuTS hero operating system
The TS-855eU also supports QuTS hero, QNAP's ZFS NAS operating system. Offering end-to-end data integrity, data reduction (online data deduplication, compression and compaction) and more, QuTS hero uses additional system resources to ensure an optimal environment to protect business data.

High bandwidth
With two 2.5 GbE LAN ports (backward compatible with 1G/100M), the TS-855eU enables businesses to easily upgrade network speeds from 1 Gigabit to 2.5 Gigabit using existing CAT5e cabling. Port aggregation and failover also support applications that demand higher bandwidth and reliability, including virtualisation, large file transfers, high-speed backup/recovery and real-time applications.
Simplified backup
- PC and Mac Backup: Sync files from your PC to the NAS with Qsync. The TS-855eU also supports Time Machine for Mac computers.
- Back up multiple VMware and Hyper-V VMs using Hyper Data Protector.
- File server backup: Supports multiple protocols such as Rsync, FTP and CIFS to back up different file servers.
- SaaS business backup solution: Use Boxafe to easily back up data from Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 business accounts.
- Google Photos and WordPress Backup: The exclusive MARS service backs up databases, Google Photos and WordPress files to the NAS.
- Back up data from a local NAS to another remote NAS using Hybrid Backup Sync. You can also deduplicate your backup using QuDedup to save time and storage space.
- Backup NAS data to the cloud: Hybrid Backup Sync supports all major public cloud services to backup or synchronize NAS data to the cloud.
- Cloud Storage Gateway: VJBOD Cloud connects cloud object storage (Bucket) and NAS backup data to the cloud.
- Backup NAS snapshots: Use Snapshot Replica to backup NAS snapshots to another NAS and recover them when needed.
