The QGD-1600P is the world's first smart edge PoE switch that runs QTS and supports virtual machine (VM) hosting. It features 16 Gigabit PoE ports with four 60-watt PoE++ (Ultra PoE) ports and 12 PoE+ ports (with two PoE/SFP combo ports). The QGD-1600P provides Layer 2 management functions for VM and QTS applications
The QGD-1600P supports Software Defined Networking (SDN), which enables it to function as a NAS, NVR router, firewall, and PA controller for IP monitoring, network security, storage expansion, and wireless network management applications. As a result, the Guardian Series provides a low-cost, centrally managed network deployment solution for small and medium-sized businesses.
Comprehensive Layer 2 Management Capabilities
The QGD-1600P provides comprehensive Layer 2 management features such as VLAN, LACP, and LLDP to enable you to effectively control the network through IP bundling and bandwidth management. The QGD-1600P also has powerful security features including IGMP Snooping, Static MAC, QoS and Wake-On-LAN, which are suitable for simple network environments and simplified deployment.
High PoE Capacity
The QGD-1600P is compliant with the latest IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standards, offering a capacity of 4 ports at 60 watts and 12 ports at 30 watts. The QGD-1600P can provide a total PoE budget of 370 watts to meet the requirements of high power devices (APE), such as IP cameras, wireless APs, IP phones, LEDs and digital signage.
The QGD-1600P supports intelligent PoE management features including scheduling, power prioritization, and power on/off. You can get real-time network connection status and power consumption information from the APEs and simultaneously configure them to promote an energy-efficient PoE network.
AN ALTERNATIVE TO CONVENTIONAL EXPANSION BOXES
The QGD-1600P is the world's first PoE switch with built-in QTS operating system for VMs, containers and other cloud applications, enabling various networking and storage solutions. In addition to QVR Pro, VJBOD and other various storage applications, the QTS App Center also supports VMs to run many open source software applications, including MikroTik RouterOS, OpenWrt, pfSense and Ubiquiti UniFi.
Integrated with public cloud services, the QGD-1600P meets the needs of various applications in IP monitoring, storage expansion, network security and wireless network management. The dual processor design of QGD-1600P allows you to run the network management interfaces of QNAP Switch System (QSS) and QTS independently.
The QGD-1600P provides an easy-to-use web-based interface, QuNetSwitch, to help SMBs easily deploy a flexible and secure IT infrastructure.
Easily Deploy an IP Surveillance System
The QGD-1600P works seamlessly with QVR Pro, QNAP's new surveillance software service, to help build the most cost-effective, comprehensive IP surveillance system. By integrating PoE, NVR, and NAS storage functions, the QGD-1600P greatly simplifies the surveillance network infrastructure while meeting the requirements of surveillance deployment, centralized management, video recording, and computing.
With the QVR Pro Surveillance Suite, IT administrators can easily manage cameras, record and playback video, switch recording tasks, and control mobile apps. The QGD-1600P has an HDMI output to connect an external monitor to control real-time video surveillance.
VJBOD: A highly scalable storage solution
The QGD-1600P supports up to two SATA drives and other storage expansion hardware accessories, such as PCIe, USB, and SAS expansion cards, as well as the RAID Expansion Enclosure (TR-004U) to deliver reliable performance.
In addition, you can expand the storage space of QGD-1600P via QNAP VJBOD. VJBOD allows you to instantly allocate the storage space of a remote QNAP NAS as an iSCSI LUN and create storage pools, take snapshots, create clones from snapshots, or index multimedia files in the multimedia library on the QGD-1600P. With the expandability of the physical units and VJBOD, you can use the maximum amount of storage possible to meet the storage and backup needs of large data.
Enhance Security
The QGD-1600P can be easily transformed into a router with a firewall via a virtual router and virtual firewall software by installing MikroTik RouterOS and OpenWrt.
You can flexibly configure Layer 3 routing functions and create site-to-site VPN tunnels between headquarters and branch offices while securing corporate network data transmissions. pfSense virtual firewall software helps companies separate or protect local networks and enforce multiple security policies.
Expand your computer and server storage space
The QGD-1600P offers Gigabit PoE with 4 ports at 60 watts and 12 ports at 30 watts for various types of high power PoE wireless APs. Adopting PoE and VM technology to support PoE wireless APs and Ubiquiti UniFi wireless network management software, the QGD-1600P becomes a hardware and software wireless AP controller. Not only does the QGD-1600P provide data transmission and PoE management over wireless APs, but also centralized management over connected and wireless network devices in offices, hotels, retail shops, or other small to medium-sized networks, emphasizing network management efficiency and cost reduction.
QuNetSwitch: User-friendly management software
In addition to QNAP Switch System (QSS), the QGD-1600P also provides QuNetSwitch (via QTS), an easy-to-use web-based network management software application to help IT administrators effectively control Layer 2 management and PoE networks. Also, the overview dashboard and graphical statistics analysis area displays all switch and APE information at a glance, making centralized management of powerful devices intuitive and easy for administrators.
