Does its job well, strangely for music in Upnp 24bits, it is necessary to connect on the 5Ghz band whereas the flow does not pass by the Dlink but by a wired switch. Strange but it works so all is well.
High-speed Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet portUsing Wi-Fi AC technology, the D-Link DAP-1665 Wireless Access Point is capable of delivering a combined maximum speed of 1200 Mbps over 2 bands. Use the 2.4GHz band with 300Mbps for web browsing and chatting, and the 5GHz band for HD streaming, online gaming and file transfer. Thanks to the presence of a Gigabit Ethernet port, your wired devices can also benefit from the performance of Wi-Fi AC technology. |
Multiple operating modes
The D-Link DAP-1665 can operate as an access point, bridge with access point, wireless client or repeater. It allows you to adapt its use to your needs. In access point mode, the D-Link DAP-1665 gives multiple users access to your existing network. In wireless client mode, the D-Link DAP-1665 connects to your router to provide wireless connectivity to a wired device (game console, Smart TV, etc.). Access point bridge mode allows you to create a high-speed wireless link between two wired networks; the access point function will then allow users to access both networks. Finally, the repeater mode extends the coverage of your existing wireless network within your office or home. |
Secure wireless connectionWEP, WPA and WPA2 data encryption technologies protect your network and data from intrusion. To save you time, WPS technology allows for a fast and secure connection with your WPS-enabled devices. The D-Link DAP-1665 also features a Kensington security cable slot (not included), so you can protect your access point from theft. |

As previously stated, I am a little disappointed with the range of this equipment. It did not really allow me to improve the wifi coverage of the house. It is on the ground floor and sometimes devices that are in the same room prefer to go and hook up to the access point in the basement! It's quite surprising.
On the other hand, no problem to configure it.
The range is much less than the ISP box, bought to deport and extend the wifi access point throughout the house as the box is placed in the garage, but even from the garage the box has a better range.
I was expecting more in terms of signal range. My Freebox V6 has a better range than this access point.
I only use it for my IP cameras and the image is stable in Wifi N, but in AC, I have blocking of a few seconds every 10 seconds or so and yet my cameras are D-Link DCS-935L compatible with Wifi AC.
I was expecting better monitoring too, but it's pretty basic.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use a D-Link DCS-935L or a D-Link DCS-935L, but it's a good idea.
Otherwise the product is ok.
Well... what can I say...
I was FINALLY able to watch an HD movie on wifi!
I was really not up to date with wifi... I was still on 802.11b >.<
So of course : it's faster now !
Be careful if you are, like me, in residence: too many people around so wifi a bit crowded...
