Considering the size, the case is really well designed. You can even add a rather large graphics card. I use it for a NAS with 4 HDD of 4TB. The only small flaw would be the lack of optimization for the cable management. Excellent case with an old and proven design. Many good reviews can be found everywhere. Easy to assemble, especially the drives which are suspended from the top of the case to increase exposure to airflow. I don't know if this would be the ideal case for a gaming setup, but for a server or NAS it is ideal. Beware: nothing special is planned for cable routing, better to take a modular power supply.

Case chosen for a DIY NAS.
-The assembly is easy and intuitive.
-Very good temperature (10-20°c) with the fans of the case + a passive radiator Artic M1 on an Athlon 5350 ( 25W tdp)
-Good use of space with "suspended" HDDs
-Fits largely in a square shelf of a certain Swedish furniture shop
-Only problem encountered: a single defective screw thread, a detail.
Nice case, very well designed in terms of ventilation, number of fans. These are very quiet (they are always at minimum). Perfect to build a quality server that can be discreet in a living room.
Ideal format (without dedicated graphics card however) for a nas under Freenas with 6 slots 3,5" + system disk in nvme.
The case is well ventilated, with a Be Quiet power supply it is quieter than my HP Omen tower. Confined in a cabinet, you can't hear anything without exceeding 42° at the disks.
The only (small) downsides:
- the screws are very loose, a good screwdriver is necessary
- the cable management, but in this format... it's normal
The Node 304 is very suitable for a server or a NAS at home:
- the footprint is really small
- numerous and relatively well-designed disk slots
- efficient cooling with reasonable noise
In short, it's almost flawless. The only thing that could bother you is that the voltage LED (blue) is VERY bright.
The only thing that could bother you is that the blue voltage LED is VERY bright, but the mounting and wiring is a bit tricky. There are several reasons for this:
- because of the orientation of the power supply as well as the disks, there are quite a few cables that will go over the motherboard; this is not ideal especially if your CPU has a fairly high fan (depending on your needs, maybe consider a more modest cooling)
- I took an entry-level power supply (ATX format) without thinking too much: the cables were too long for this small case and in this confined space, it is not necessarily obvious to find a place for them
- although I can't attest to it, I imagine that the cabling must be a real headache if you also want a GPU configuration; another case might be preferable for a mini game station
To sum up: be careful with the cables during assembly, but once installed, it's really impeccable.
I bought this case to host my NAS/server. It's one of the few mini-ITX enclosures with 6 bays and a small footprint, so it was an obvious choice. Overall, the case is pretty good and does the job, but there are some irritating flaws:
-- the power supply switch is inaccessible, and there is no switch on the case for the power supply.
-- There is no reset button (which can be annoying, considering the above point...)
-- very good point about the disc cages, but they are mounted with two big knurled screws and a micro screw. Not very coherent.
-- the orientation of the disc cages is oddly chosen. I would have put them with vertical disks, wiring from the top; here they are horizontal, cables coming out of the side of the CPU fan...
-- the tapping was done before painting; that makes most of the screws difficult to screw in. Don't expect to handle the knurled screws by hand, you need pliers or a screwdriver.
-- the large rear fan has no protection inside, and is easily blocked by the motherboard power cable.
-- The integrated rheobus is of a deplorable quality: cheap switch, molex plug with original twisted pins...
None of this is really serious, but it is annoying for a case that aims for excellence.
I've always had a lot of large lathes, and I was tired of them taking up space and dust.
I chose this case because of its size (I have it on my desk and it fits really well) and especially for a gaming configuration (I have a GTX 970 from MSI inside 30cm) and frankly... perfect.
It's also possible to put a very large fan. just perfect.
Very sporty installation considering the size, but normal.
Please pay attention to the size of your power supply.
