    the best of the best

top quality as usual with fractal

very nice finish, good metal for the walls and brushed metal on the front, it's beautiful, very beautiful, very very beautiful
perfect for forty-somethings like me who are past the age of RGB on the glass side, its sobriety is matched only by its elegance (I almost bought the fractal with wooden slats on the front ^^)

dust filters everywhere, soundproofing foam everywhere, perfect ergonomics and cable management
having previously had an ARC midi R2 (semi) mesh fractal, I've only had to clean it once in 9 years (you're not dreaming) and I've hardly had to remove anything, so imagine with this monster that's going to put a stop to all foreign bodies
everything opens effortlessly and is easy to access, and everything inside is modular (but really)

in short, this fractal R7 has everything going for it, it's close to perfection, but are we really surprised by this? no, if you're like me and used to this brand
it's not cheap, but you have to pay for quality, don't you? and the quality is there, in every area.

I'm not going to change brands with this camera.

    On/off button already tired

The on/off button is starting to show signs of intermittent failure, which is not great for a box of this price.

    Sober and quiet

    Sober, quiet, excellent finish.
Easy to clean as the filters are magnetic or clip on, great idea to be able to remove the filter from the bottom from the front rather than the back.
A great box for people who are getting tired of RGB :)

    Very good

This box is as described, and the reviews are pretty representative of my experience.
The price is a bit high, but the quality is there. I particularly appreciate the multiple possibilities of cooling and cable passage, not to mention the easy access dust filters.
This case allows a clean assembly where the cables remain in their place.

It's a bit more than double what I used to put in a case, but I don't regret it. Unless there is a drastic change in CM standards, I think I'll keep it for a long time.

    Can do better

Coming from an ATCS 840 which was beginning to find its limits with my current setup, I opted for the Fractal Design quality.
Well, it's not at the level of what Coolermaster could do 10 years ago.

Negative points : The sheet metal (I dare not say steel here) that makes up the chassis is thin and resonates a lot.
The hand screws for the HDD racks are a real pain.
We are clearly not on the level of the ATCS 840 in terms of interior finish.
The cable for the USB 3.0 on the front panel broke when I first disassembled it, so I have the connector part stuck in the motherboard socket (impossible to remove, even with pliers).
I have to say that I had correctly mounted the plug in the right direction.
I have asked Fractal Design for a new cable but I need to find a solution to remove the blue part of the plug stuck in my motherboard... (If LDLC after sales service has had this before and can give any hints for resolution).
In the storage position with my 4 HDDs, my graphics card which is 305mm long doesn't fit, I had to put two disks back together to slide the graphics card in.
However, the manufacturer's diagrams indicate a length of 315 at this point. The graphics card therefore fits into the space allocated to the HDDs.

Positive points: The management cable is easy.
The exterior finish is much better than the interior. It is very clean and sober.
It's quiet from the start with the 3 140 fans (3 pins) connected to the nexus at the back. I'm going to change the fan to arctic P14 PWM for better control and pressure.
Temperatures with the original fans are already lower overall by 5° compared to my old tower.

A quick note to thank LDLC for the fast Chronopost delivery.
Ordered Tuesday at 3pm, received Wednesday at 10am.

Thank you to those who had the courage to read my pamphlet ;)
