A little marvel of a PC case, the Fractal Design Node 804 has been designed with gamers in mind, focusing on efficient component cooling. It supports up to 10 fans (including 3 supplied), the most advanced watercooling systems and benefits from a dual-chamber design for better heat dispersion.
The Fractal Design Node 804 supports Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards so you can assemble a compact, high-performance Gamer configuration. Its incredible design and flawless ergonomics allow you to install the most powerful hardware: Graphics card up to 320 mm (290 mm max. with front-mounted fans), processor cooling system up to 160 mm high, up to 8 3.5" hard disks or up to 4 2.5" SSDs. Compatible with the most advanced watercooling systems or all-in-one processor watercooling systems, the Fractal Design Node 804 can handle up to 4 radiators simultaneously : 1x 240 mm + 1x 280 mm + 2x 120 mm.
Thanks to the Fractal Design Node 804's dual chamber, you can install your components that give off the most heat on one side and those that give off the least on the other. The result: better cooling of sensitive components and improved performance thanks to optimised and perfectly controlled airflow. Practical and useful, the Node 804's expansion ports allow you to connect up to 2 USB 3.0 peripherals as well as the usual headphones and/or microphone. Located on the side of the Node 804 case, they are easily accessible. Supplied with 3 Fractal design Silent Series R2 fans 120 mm, the Node 804 PC case delivers very good cooling performance as standard. This performance can easily be increased by adding up to 7 additional fans!

It's a very good case, it's pretty (although that's subjunctive) and functional. It's perfect for a NAS, with the possibility of putting more than 8 hard disks. And it's very quiet, it's in a studio and at night it knows how to make itself forgotten.
This box is a jewel, with its 8x 3.5" capacity for fat HDDs plus a host of 2.5" SSD slots built into the front panel or top cover, making it a very comfortable home-made NAS box!
Note that it doesn't offer easy access to HDDs (no hotswap-type bay), it's a classic old cage that needs dismantling, but that doesn't matter: once in place, it doesn't move, it's super ventilated (almost the entire external surface of the case: front, side, top, can be lined with fans).
In short, I love this beautiful piece of work!
Very good box, well laid out as far as it goes.
Used to build a Proxmox server.
Contains 4 HDD and 2 SSD.
I do not regret this choice.
I use this box in NAS configuration. This case is very well designed to allow a PC configuration as well. The slots inside are well designed, with a well thought out double compartment. It's airy and the original fans are quiet. You can feel the mastery of this Swedish brand in the design and the sobriety of their know-how. I also owned the NODE 304. I recommend it for any type of configuration.
I chose this case mainly for the possibilities.
I currently use it as a NAS; its multiple 3.5 HDD slots and 2.5 SSD compartments make it very practical for that.
Moreover, its design, its numerous fans and its small size make it a very good choice.
