Compliant product
Product as described and compatible with my Synology DS218Play. Real performance boost from 5400 RPM to 7200 RPM.
Designed for NAS, the Toshiba N300 hard drive offers unrivalled reliability! In the demanding world of mass storage, the N300 ensures optimum performance and meets the endurance, performance and scalability needs of of a 24/7 high-capacity storage system for personal, home office or SME use.
N300 drives guarantee high reliability by reducing vibration through control and sensor technology. Numerous sensors detect the slightest shock, and built-in VR sensors compensate for rotational vibration, reducing the risk of harmful vibration in the multi-bay NAS configuration.
By offering high reliability and scalability, the N300 guarantees a workload factor of up to 180 TB/year, which is up to 3 times more than conventional desktop hard disks.
The use of very robust components is one of the reasons why the N300 series guarantees greater durability than conventional hard drives. In addition, the automatic adjustment of the seek speed to reduce heat during any operation involving high temperatures further enhances the robustness of the device in demanding situations.
You can enjoy high performance and accelerated read speed when accessing data shared by many users, thanks to a 512 MB, 256 MB or 128 MB data buffer. This makes the drive suitable for small businesses and content management professionals who are looking for solutions for processing high volumes of data in multi-RAID NAS environments.

Product as described and compatible with my Synology DS218Play. Real performance boost from 5400 RPM to 7200 RPM.
Discs are noisy when accessed.
Distributed later than expected (not Friday but Tuesday)
Order tracking and shipping are always good at LDLC.
And I'm completely satisfied with this drive after a few months of intensive writing and loading.
Relatively silent, inexpensive and 14TB.
Installed without a hitch in a Synology DS224+.
I'm thinking of buying more soon for a DS218+ I already have.
Very good for a Nas
Makes more noise than a western red but is much faster to respond, however to see the durability of the disk is my first toshiba
Bought 4 copies for a raid 5 on a Synology.
No problem migrating old disks (WD Red 2012 3TB).
The system is really responsive (it's a big machine though). During backups on a 10 Gb network, backups run at 8 Gb, so 800 MB/s. We'll have to see over time.
The WDs have lasted 12 years overall (with a few clashes).
The Toshiba disks used on a server in the past gave total satisfaction (performance, reliability), so I hope that this will be the case with these NAS disks at 7200 rpm (average temperature 28°C).
Satisfied!
The disks live up to their specifications. However, when working, they scratch quite loudly compared to the older WD red plus drives installed in the NAS. The operating noise is also greater when you're in silence, but that's well known for this model.
In short, what we're really looking for is reliability, and I don't know about that at the moment.
Product conforms to order and is well packaged by the manufacturer. The product is slightly noisy when reading/writing but the noise is acceptable. The LDLC packaging in the cardboard box was a bit flimsy on this occasion, as the product was exposed to knocks and shocks because it was simply placed in a cardboard box, hence the missing star.
Installed in my NAS DS223j to increase my storage, recognised perfectly by the system.
I bought the 16TB after trying the 4TB from the same series. I recommend it.
Very happy with my large capacity hard drive at a very fair price. I searched for several minutes to easily compare capacity with price and quality.
