Perfect for RAID
I'm quite happy with this hard drive that I recently bought for my RAID 1 storage server. My aim was to opt for a reliable, high-performance solution to ensure the long-term security of my cloud data.
First of all, I was pleasantly surprised by the noise level of the hard disk. Unlike other models I've used in the past, this one is much quieter, which is particularly appreciable given that my server is located in my living room.
But what really persuaded me to buy it was its ability to handle a 550TB load per year, which is a considerable asset. I hope to be able to keep this installation for at least ten years without too many worries, as my usage is relatively less than its capacity. Its 5-year warranty bears witness to the theoretical robustness announced by the manufacturer.
With a 256 MB cache memory and a rotational speed of 7200 rpm, this hard drive offers perfectly reasonable performance. Of course, it's not an ssd, so it's a long way from their performance, but it still maintains good transfer rates over the long term.
