Overview

A single scalable solution

StarTech.com 's PEXUSB3S3GE controller card consolidates your peripheral and network connections into a single, scalable solution. By combining three USB 3.0 ports and one RJ45 port into one card, you only need one PCI-E slot for installation, freeing up space for other additions or upgrades and allowing you to do more with your desktop or server.

If you have separate cards for your USB and network connections, this versatile card will prevent you from running out of PCIe slots while reducing the footprint in your PC. This dual-purpose card is ideal when it comes to assembling or upgrading your computer. It's economical, so you don't have to buy separate USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet adapters. If required, it can always be adapted to your system on standard or compact cases thanks to its dual profile, which makes installation easier.

Simplicity and connectivity

The combo card makes it easy to connect peripherals such as external hard disk drives or mobile devices. What's more, it's backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.x standards, so you won't have to replace all your USB peripherals.

This card works like a network adapter, providing wired network access in places where Wi-Fi is non-existent or unreliable. With support for advanced features like extended frames and VLAN tagging, you'll be able to optimise network traffic when needed.

    very practical

quality hardware, natively recognized under Linux
    functional and powerful
supplied with half height bracket for slim format cases
nothing to complain about, like all startech hardware (quality has to be paid for)
    I recommend

The dimensions of the card are not compatible with my antec case

I bought this card to have more usb ports.
When I installed it, I had to force it into the motherboard port because the card is too high in relation to the planned slot of the computer (antec case)
The width of the bracket is too wide and I had to saw off a piece of it. I had never noticed this kind of problem before!
Either it's the case or the card that's at fault. In any case if I had to do it again I would buy another brand of card.
