Works well!
No problem, the product works exactly as expected.
Just be careful with the SATA power connector, it is quite fragile. Fortunately it is optional and the card works fine without it!
StarTech.com's PEXUSB3S23 PCI Express card lets you add 2 USB 3.0 ports to any PCI Express-compatible computer system. An optional SATA power connector can be connected to your system's power supply to provide up to 900 mA per port to USB 3.0 peripherals.
PCI-E controller card (2 USB 3.0 Type-A UASP ports).
StarTech.com 's PEXUSB3S23 PCI Express card lets you add 2 USB 3.0 ports to any PCI Express-compatible computer system. An optional SATA power connector can be connected to your system's power supply to provide up to 900 mA per port to bus-powered USB 3.0 devices (500 mA for USB 2.0).
TheUSB 3.0 PCI-E adapter complies with USB 3.0 standards for transfer speeds of up to 5 Gb/s, while being backwards compatible with existing USB 2.0/1.1 devices. For added versatility, the controller card comes with a standard height bracket and includes a low-profile/half-height bracket for compact computers.
Enhanced with UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), this USB 3.0 controller is 70% faster than a conventional USB 3.0 port when paired with an enclosure that supports UASP. Using a more efficient protocol than the traditional USB BOT (Bulk-Only Transport), UASP optimises transfer by allowing multiple commands to be processed simultaneously, significantly increasing transfer speeds.

No need to install a driver under Windows 10.
The UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) function is very useful with an external hard drive. The throughput is really boosted, and disconnections are easy.
Mounted on a Dell PC, this card installs easily on a PCI express slot and is immediately recognized under Windows 10; no need to insert the CD supplied with it.
I tested it without the optional sata power supply: it runs WD external hard drives with USB3 or USB2 depending on the drive.
I've been using it for a while now, but it's a good idea to check it out and see if it's working.
