Good but...
Delivered without cable and screws. The packaging was not great, the hard drive was walking around in the box with a minimum of protection. Besides, there is no official Seagate packaging around the hard drive. Strange.

The days of 500 megabytes are long gone. As time goes by, we take bigger and bigger disks to have everything without searching in dozens of disks. It's especially because photos and videos are taking up more and more space. And then it is essential to make backup copies.
The hardest part is finding a USB 3.0 enclosure to fit such a thick drive (15mm!), but the drive itself is exactly what I needed for my periodic local backups.
I wanted to install Xpenology on a mini PC. Problem, who says mini pc, says DD in 2,5 !
I wanted to import my large media library on a plex accessible 24/24, there was only the Barracuda to do the trick.
The HDD is a bit thicker than the standard HDDs and I had to remove the old plastic HDD holder so that it would fit in the machine (a Dell optiplex).
I'm very happy with it so far, it does the job it's supposed to!
Out of four disks ordered, one of them failed very quickly (in less than a week). Installed on a Synology nas, the defective disk started to make "bad sectors" after an extended smart test. Hopefully the others will not follow. In order to have a fast service, the disk was sent back to Seagate directly. Despite the speed of LDLC's service, for this kind of problem, at the level of the disks, I prefer to send back to the manufacturer, the delays are reduced, between 4 and 7 days.
