Irrecoverable data
I thought I was buying an SSD but it turned out to be a classic dir drive with mechanical parts. Damaged read head and unreadable disk. In short, I've just lost years of work and personal data. Not happy at all.
Choose a high quality drive that is powerful, reliable and, above all, small in size. The Barracuda Compute drive is a 2.5" drive with a thickness of 7mm, while offering very good transfer speeds.

Choose a high quality drive that is both powerful and reliable, but above all, very small in size. The Barracuda Compute drive has a 2.5" form factor with a thickness of 7mm, while enjoying very good transfer speeds. The Seagate BarraCuda 2.5" hard drives (up to 5TB capacity) incorporate the performance and reliability that Seagate products have proven for over 20 years.
The Barracuda Compute 2.5-inch hard drive lineup is truly expansive with capacities up to 5TB in two 7mm and 15mm sizes, compatible with a variety of computing applications. The drive features fast data transfer rates of up to 140MB/s, for optimal user comfort and more responsive transfers.
The 15mm thick 2.5" drives provide capacities ranging from 3TB to 5TB, the highest capacity 2.5" hard drives on the market for external or all-in-one storage solutions.
The 15mm thickness allows for thinner all-in-one desktop designs and helps reduce heat generation and vibration. Thanks to their low start-up current, the 3TB to 5TB drives can be used in existing low-power systems, such as external USB 2 enclosures, and at the same time help reduce power consumption. The 5TB drives can store over 1.25 million songs and 600 hours of HD video.

Correct speeds, and very quiet if you plan to use it in an external box, for example!
I've combined it with a small SSD for the system, on a 2009 Macbook, to make a backup server.
The drive is plenty fast enough for backups and movies, since the bottleneck is the network.
For the time being, the drive is very quiet, so there's nothing to complain about there.
As for lifespan, we'll have to wait and see. :)
I bought it to add to a nas running omv, and it was immediately recognised after being mounted on a PCI/sata expansion card, and after being formatted by the system, it is already very full and I'm completely satisfied. It replaces an "old" disk from my old laptop which, after ten years, is starting to show signs of fatigue... As usual, delivery was fast, in a slightly bulky parcel, but it was well packed and protected, and the drive was safe.
Great delivery, great quality
Installed with an Icy Box, does its job. I'm sure it's a Seagate product, as I've seen its life/price ratio.
