Delivery a little long (24 days from France to New Caledonia) UPS should improve its services to match the price charged. Perfect packaging, product received without any damage. Easy to install, all that's left to do is transfer the data from the old one to the new one. Delighted with the product.
RAS. Product well received but not yet tested as I am waiting for the Toshiba N300 10T price drop.
Product purchased to replace a DS1815+ which had just given up the ghost during the holidays and hot weather.
Inserted the disks in the right order, activated the switch, and everything was recovered without having to restore a backup.
What happiness...
This NAS replaces an older model with the same form factor, which had given up the ghost.
The big advantage with Synology is that you move the disks from the old one to the new one and in less than 30 minutes, everything is back up and running.
I would appreciate a little more clarity on availability and delivery from LDLC.

Replaced the old ds1812+ NAS that broke down.
Physical change of disks on the new NAS. Everything works and restarts without problems.
Adapted old version to new NAS version without any problem.
I've been using it for a while now and it's a real pleasure to use it as a replacement for a "DS214+".
I'm very pleased with the quality of the product and the service.
I bought this NAS for backup purposes only. It is a luxurious solution but my previous server was already equipped with 7 disks (which I wanted to reuse).
The installation was done quickly because DSM (6.2 at the time of installation) is a marvel of ergonomics. In view of the use, I installed the Hyper Backup (to make remote backups in push mode) and Active Backup (to make backups in pull mode) packages. All file backups are now centralized, it's perfect and it works very well.
Given the power of the processor, virtualisation is possible provided that the RAM is increased (16GB seems to me to be a minimum) and that NVMe disks are used for caching to speed up R/W accesses (2 disks are necessary, if there is only one it will only work for reading).
DSM has been migrated to version 7.0 without any problem. Personally, I don't find that this new version brings much (in all it's less visible than the passage from v5 to v6) and aesthetically, I find this new version less beautiful (but tastes and colours...).
Why 9/10 then...
The only thing that is really a problem is the carrier. The only problem is that Chronopost simply dropped the package in front of my door while I was away and that the package has the Synology logo on it. It's a mess... What if I can't find anything? This is not a 10€ purchase
Please LDLC, would it be possible to work with real logistics professionals, like DHL or UPS? Because, between the postponements of deliveries ("your product has been misdirected") and the lack of seriousness when the deliveries arrive, it's really close to 0 as a service. And that's a shame.
I switched from a ds713+ with dx510 extension to this model.
A radical change, incredible speed and flexibility.
Beware for ext4 volumes, a direct transfer can be done by a simple mount of the disks.
I have made a single volume in btrfs, to benefit from all the latest features, limitation by user, by folder... (with seagate ironwolf disks)
The memory 4 go of ram is a little light, I added 4 g. I recommend it,
It's a shame it's not 8g ram from the factory.
I have not mounted a ssd cache for the moment. It's a good idea to use it for virtual machines.

The delivery by LDLC was super fast: as usual it's perfect!
However, I received a text message from Chronopost telling me that I would be delivered between 10:30 and 11:30, and seeing nothing coming, I logged on to their website at 1pm to discover that my parcel was in a post office that is not in my town and in front of which you cannot park...
So it was a bit of a pain to get it back!
Moral: LDLC is always at the top, and Chronopost is always so bad!
The big hard drives arrive on May 12th so not yet plugged in, but the object looks good.
I'll do an update when I've received the drives and installed the thing...
I had a Syno DS1511+, it was noisy and it was slow (like 10M at peak with the wind at my back).
Before migration I archived my data on separate disks to be sure not to lose them (it took me 1 or 2 weeks). But the migration to the DS1821+ went smoothly in 10 minutes. But do an archive before, just in case, Syno recommends it.
The performance is great, I tested it with an SSD in the Syno and it works great on the network.
And it's quiet: 30-35 db at 1m (Decibel X app on Android)
