Overview

Centralised storage solution and private cloud

Keep your media safe in one place on this high-performance network-attached storage (NAS) solution and access it securely from anywhere. With My Cloud EX2 Ultra, you can synchronise your content across all your computers, share files and documents easily and take advantage of multiple backup options to create your own personalised system.
Thanks to My Cloud EX2 Ultra's RAID settings, you can customise your system by choosing the configuration that suits you best. Use RAID 0 for best performance, RAID 1 for mirrored data protection, or a JBOD/multidisk structure for non-RAID configurations.

Enhanced NAS for maximum performance

Thanks to the powerful Marvell ARMAD A 385 dual-core 1.3 GHz processor, you'll benefit from ultra-fast transfer rates for high-performance, lag-free streaming. You'll also benefit from 1 GB of DDR3 memory for effortless multi-tasking.
Share files and folders with friends and family: they can download content to and from your My Cloud. You can also share a private link to a folder with read/write access rights for easy, effortless collaboration.

Centralised storage

Keep your photos, videos, music and documents safe in one place. Access and share them wherever you are using the My Cloud mobile app or MyCloud.com.
Automatically sync your media and files between your computers and My Cloud with WD Sync. You can be sure that your content is always up to date and accessible from your different devices.

Enhanced data protection;

With WD SmartWare Pro backup software, PC users can customise where and when their content is backed up, while Mac users have full access to Apple Time Machine to customise their backups. You also have the option of backing up your data to a separate My Cloud NAS as well as to any supported cloud service.
With AES 256 volume encryption, you can store your files securely across your entire network. Whether you're using a PC or Mac, your content is protected in every circumstance.

    Heats up a lot: noise

When it's hot and the NAS is configured to be accessible via the internet (connected to MyCloud) the fan is quickly at its maximum and becomes too noisy for me. I'm going to get a more advanced model and hope it will blow less.

    Efficient and easy to use

For simple file backup, this NAS is perfect.
Quick and easy to set up (except for formatting the disks).
    Just as easy to use.
    No unnecessary frills.
Works perfectly in a "mixed" network with Windows, Linux and Apple PCs.
Allows you to share files between these three systems.
It's not said anywhere in the downloadable instructions, but the configuration interface works fine in Firefox on Linux (Archlinux and Debian) and the Gnome file browser allows access to all content (shared folders and user accounts).

    Very pleasant to use

Combined with 2 x 2Tb WD Red, this na is very user-friendly, both in terms of the user interface, access management and data management.

The only thing missing is the user manual. A simple sticker, postage stamp size, with a single illustration in the bag of screws. A small card with the site from which to proceed with the installation. But what if in a few years you have to reinstall the equipment? what if a software update causes a problem? how long will the site be maintained? I would have preferred a small manual and an installation CD.

    Very good NAS

The NAS does its job perfectly (with the Seagate IronWolf 6TB in my case), quite reactive despite the small latency when leaving standby mode.
