Correct and intuitive
Small, simple and effective scanner. Scanning quality isn't breathtaking (the images obtained are a little overexposed, but in proportions comparable to what an office scanner produces), but it's still more than good enough to be readable and usable. Rigid documents such as ID cards are also easy to scan.
Works in plug and play with the basic utility supplied with Windows 7. Under Linux Mint 22, it also works without having to download the driver from the Brother site, but in a degraded way (does not manage duplexing or continuous scanning).
I'm also withdrawing one star because the plastic guide has no stop (it slides freely) and therefore has to be repositioned after each scan, which is a bit of a pain.
The advertised scan speed of "15 pages/minute" is a bit misleading: a page is indeed scanned in 4 seconds, but the scanner has no feeder and swallows all the sheets it is given. The actual speed therefore depends mainly on the skill of the user...
