The product itself is a minor revolution in the joystick world.
It has virtually all the functions you need for Flight Simulator X, FLight Simulator 2020, P3D etc...
I don't pull back hard and it's not unusual for the base to lift up as well ... Annoying on a short final with an Airbus A380 ...
Apart from this negative point, the product is really top-notch and remains at the top of the range for this type of product.
Before ordering: I've had an X52 Pro for 9 years and I'm satisfied with it. After a bit of research, I opted for the X56; it's been criticised for its qualities, but on the whole, the reviews are similar to those of the X52 Pro, so I took the 'risk'.
Unpacking: gosh, the materials are really cheap; much worse than the x52 Pro, even though it's in a lower range ... There's some play on the joystick and the yoghurt-pot plastics on the knobs are scary. The throttle doesn't feel like anything, it's super heavy once and impossible to control because it's so light. Still on the throttle, I notice that I'm moving one of the sticks; the other moves in unison... Overall, only the toggles seem to be well made, the rest is of mediocre quality.
Calibration: buttons that activate themselves, a non-existent zero on the joystick and throttle ... it scares me ... but I set a few dead zones with Logi's software (not as bad as the X52 Pro's, but the software isn't really crazy) and I start Elite Dangerous.
First use: I take off: 30s, my boost goes off by itself... I think I must have activated a button by mistake... Except that it happens again with all the toggles ... once it's the map that's displayed, once it's the train that's coming out ... In short, unplayable... A few tests on different usb ports show me that it's really coming from the machine and that it's a physical problem...
45 minutes of use (including a good 30 minutes to map and calibrate), and back in the box.
Absolutely flee
This Logitech X56 HOTAS does not work. The programming of the keys is inoperative.
I have sent it back. Very disappointed as I had a Saitek X55 HOTAS which worked perfectly for years.
When you change the spring to a softer joystick, you will find that it locks up very slightly in roll, yaw and pitch. This means that the aircraft will slowly deviate from its course if you let go of the controls. Apart from that, it's a real pleasure. A lot of buttons and mini-joysticks for a total immersion in virtual reality on Elite Dangerous and other simulators
Very well finished product for plastic. Looks robust, to be seen over time.
Works straight away, recognised by all games.
Great value for money.
The only drawback is that the joystick has a very slight play at the central neutral point, which means you have to extend the dead zone slightly in the settings, but it's still very light for the moment and doesn't affect the use.
For those who are hesitant or don't want to put 2000 bullets in a Virpil. DONE.

I have been using it for 7 months now and I can say that I am very satisfied with the product. The joystick is very complete but is a bit big for a small hand. I have a medium sized hand (19 cm from the middle finger to the bottom of the wrist) and a discomfort can appear during a precision manoeuvre with the need in parallel to use the Chinese hats. This discomfort translates into a lack of precision. However, if the controls are correctly distributed over the two joysticks (joystick and throttle) then the problem is solved. The throttle may feel hard but it softens up once it has been moved once or twice before starting the simulation. So not annoying for me. The plastics are well finished and the ability to change the joystick springs allows you to adapt the hardness when you go from an aeronautical to a space simulation. Finally, the throttle is equipped with several mini joysticks which are very useful in space simulation, especially for vertical and horizontal control. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get a copy of the game, but I'm sure I'll be able to get a copy of the game if I can. I had to wait 5 months to get it, but since then, what a pleasure!
Excellent hardware, a pack of configurations available for all flight simulators, recognized by win 10 pro directly and by the software from Logitec.
I've known stick and throttle, this one is great and very well thought out: especially for Elite Dangerous Horizons and Microsoft Fly Simulator X...
I ordered the Logitech X56 HOTAS to play Elite Dangerous, x4 Foundations, and now even XPlane11.
This joystick is more than adequate for flight and space simulation. You will find many customizable buttons in game to adapt the HOTAS to your way of flying, the RGB LEDs are also a great idea from Logictech to give a more accomplished aesthetic.
However, the plastic finish, even if good quality, seems to put off some players, I have to admit that I am one of them, but it doesn't have much impact in game, I wouldn't take it into account more than that.
The two main black points I remember are that:
- Unless I'm mistaken, the RGB LED system is not manually adjustable, or Logitech doesn't clearly indicate how to do it.
- This joystick is so precise that it becomes a defect, I personally have a little bit of play on the stick that regularly makes me catch my ship or my plane deviating from its trajectory without reason.
I nevertheless recommend this product which, despite a few minor defects here and there, will reinforce your in-game immersion. Good game!

It's true that the new x56 is better than the previous one (the black/blue one), I ordered it from alger, after a good study on the choice of the best HOTAS for Star Citizen, I opted for this one and frankly there's nothing to say, just huge, the sensations are there! thanks Logitech and LDLC :)
I have been using the X52 pro for a few years and decided to invest in the X56 for Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen.
The joystick and throttle bases are very large, so be careful to have enough room on your desk. On the other hand, the finish, although plastic, is more robust than the X52 (which although resistant, seemed more "cheap").
As for the joystick, it is delivered disassembled, the assembly only takes a few seconds, which is for me a guarantee of quality (you can change the spring to reduce the resistance + or -). Attention, small hands abstain!
On the throttle side, the only problem is its hardness: even when adjusted, pushing or pulling the throttle will require a lot of force. And since both bases only have four anti-slip washers, the base can lift up if you push it forward a lot. Suction cups (like on the X52 pro) would have been welcome, to hold both bases on a desk.
On the software side, the acquisition of Saitek (former manufacturer of the x56) by Logitech is really beneficial: the drivers work perfectly, the configuration is really complete and easy to use
Good joystick, good grip, even if the Chinese hats are difficult to access for small hands like me. The hotas has a lot of useful buttons and very good quality. The throttle is too hard in my opinion, even if the adjustment doesn't change much, it spoils the experience of the whole thing.
Very pleasant to use and full of different buttons, I recommend it to people who want a good feeling on games like No Man's Sky, Star Citizen, Flight Simulator. The software allows you to set up the "Dead Zone" and gives an interesting customization of the functions
However, I don't like the plastic finish of some buttons which could be nicer
