Overview

For military precision in flight

The Logitech G X-56 H.O.T.A.S. system is a fully integrated handheld stick and joystick flight controller that meets or exceeds the demands of even the most seasoned flight simulator pilots. Designed to enhance your flying experience, this control system features analogue sticks, a 16-bit aileron with RGB lighting, a rudder axis and 189 programmable controls.
What's more, each button can be configured to respond to one of the game's commands via the configuration software.

Ideal for Virtual Reality

Flying in VR is a unique experience, but it can be difficult because you can't see your hands. As a result, locating the controls can sometimes prove problematic. With the X-56, the controls are placed directly under your fingers, and thanks to their different shapes and textures, you'll find it easier to find your way around. Even the switches on the base of the controller are offset or separated to make them easier to distinguish by touch.
Just as in real flight, the accuracy of the aircraft's control surfaces is of paramount importance during virtual flight. The control surfaces in the X-56 H.O.T.A.S. system are incredibly accurate, thanks to the all-new 16-bit aileron and 16-bit elevator, each using Hall-effect sensors.

Spring-loaded adjustable handle

The Logitech G X-56 H.O.T.A.S. featuresan innovative adjustable spring system that allows you to change the amount of force required to move the stick. Four variable-resistance springs are included to provide a total of five different options. Choose the spring, or none at all, that best suits the way you fly.
Using a twin-engine throttle is the only appropriate method for handling a virtual twin-engine aircraft. The Logitech G X-56 H.O.T.A.S. system comes with two throttle controls - perfect for when your main engine is disabled and you're only flying with one - and also offers the option of adjusting the level of friction needed to move them. And if your aircraft of choice is a single-engine aircraft, a handy throttle lock button converts both throttles into a single throttle.

RGB backlighting;

Many PC peripherals feature RGB backlighting and the X-56 is no exception. The software allows you to choose and match the colour of the lighting to the rest of your equipment.
Logitech G software allows you to fully customise all the axes and buttons on the Logitech G X-56 H.O.T.A.S. joystick. As far as the control surfaces are concerned, you can adjust the neutral zones and response curves to fine-tune the axes so that the virtual aircraft responds exactly as it would in a real situation. On the knobs and buttons side, you can attach any of the simulator's built-in controls, such as Afterburner, Frame Shift Drive, Target Lock and Multiple Weapons Fire.

    Fine, but ...

The product itself is a minor revolution in the joystick world.
It has virtually all the functions you need for Flight Simulator X, FLight Simulator 2020, P3D etc...
I don't pull back hard and it's not unusual for the base to lift up as well ... Annoying on a short final with an Airbus A380 ...
Apart from this negative point, the product is really top-notch and remains at the top of the range for this type of product.

Avoid this product, this kind of thing should not exist

Before ordering: I've had an X52 Pro for 9 years and I'm satisfied with it. After a bit of research, I opted for the X56; it's been criticised for its qualities, but on the whole, the reviews are similar to those of the X52 Pro, so I took the 'risk'.
Unpacking: gosh, the materials are really cheap; much worse than the x52 Pro, even though it's in a lower range ... There's some play on the joystick and the yoghurt-pot plastics on the knobs are scary. The throttle doesn't feel like anything, it's super heavy once and impossible to control because it's so light. Still on the throttle, I notice that I'm moving one of the sticks; the other moves in unison... Overall, only the toggles seem to be well made, the rest is of mediocre quality.
Calibration: buttons that activate themselves, a non-existent zero on the joystick and throttle ... it scares me ... but I set a few dead zones with Logi's software (not as bad as the X52 Pro's, but the software isn't really crazy) and I start Elite Dangerous.
First use: I take off: 30s, my boost goes off by itself... I think I must have activated a button by mistake... Except that it happens again with all the toggles ... once it's the map that's displayed, once it's the train that's coming out ... In short, unplayable... A few tests on different usb ports show me that it's really coming from the machine and that it's a physical problem...
45 minutes of use (including a good 30 minutes to map and calibrate), and back in the box.
    Absolutely flee

X56 Programming inactive keys in Flight Simulator 10

This Logitech X56 HOTAS does not work. The programming of the keys is inoperative.
I have sent it back. Very disappointed as I had a Saitek X55 HOTAS which worked perfectly for years.

    Excellent!

When you change the spring to a softer joystick, you will find that it locks up very slightly in roll, yaw and pitch. This means that the aircraft will slowly deviate from its course if you let go of the controls. Apart from that, it's a real pleasure. A lot of buttons and mini-joysticks for a total immersion in virtual reality on Elite Dangerous and other simulators

    Beautiful and efficient

Very well finished product for plastic. Looks robust, to be seen over time.
Works straight away, recognised by all games.
    Great value for money.
The only drawback is that the joystick has a very slight play at the central neutral point, which means you have to extend the dead zone slightly in the settings, but it's still very light for the moment and doesn't affect the use.
For those who are hesitant or don't want to put 2000 bullets in a Virpil. DONE.
