Add 1 x 20Gb/s SuperSpeed USB-C port to your desktop computer with this USB 3.2 Type-C PCIe card from Startech.com. The expansion card provides up to 15W (5V @ 3A) to power and charge peripherals. It features the ASMedia ASM3242 controller using four PCIe 3.0 lanes, so it can achieve up to 20 Gb/s throughput, allowing fast access to high-performance devices such as NVMe and SSDs.     USB-C but not great

    I took this card to be able to charge while playing, with a Meta Quest 3 VR headset. Unfortunately, it's impossible to pass a bitrate of 200Mbps otherwise there are sound problems. See customer reviews on the brand's website, and I'm not the only one. So I'm forced to lower the bitrate, whereas on a usb 3.0 (10w only and therefore not enough), I can go up to 500Mbps without any problem.

    The brand's after-sales service did try to solve my problem with me, but in the end there was no solution :-(.

    It charges well at 15W, otherwise.

    PCIE CONTROLLER WITH 1 USB 3.2 TYPE-C PORT (20 GB/S)

    Very handy for getting decent data transfer speeds with an external SSD 3.2 GEN2X2 when you don't have such a fast USB port built into your motherboard. It's a shame there's only one USB-C port; two would have been better for transferring data from external SSD to external SSD at 20GB/s.
