Gain performance with SSD cache and Qtier technology

In addition to using 2.5" SSDs for caching, you can use the TVS-872N's two built-in M.2 SSD slots to install NVMe PCIe 3.0 x2 SSDs.

SSD caches accelerate IOPS performance and reduce latency for storage volumes. They are ideal for IOPS-intensive applications (including databases and virtualization) and can dramatically improve the overall workflow.

Qtier technology enhances the TVS-872N with automatic tiering that helps optimise storage efficiency by automatically moving data between M.2 SSDs, 2.5-inch SSDs, and high-capacity hard drives based on data access frequency. Qtier 2.0 includes I/O recognition that prioritizes SSD storage with reserved space as a cache to handle real-time burst I/O, greatly maximizing the benefits of SSDs.

Install a QM2 card and enable SSD cache

The TVS-872N includes two PCIe Gen3 slots, allowing you to install M.2 SSDs via QM2 expansion cards, in addition to the M.2 SSDs (sold separately) installed in the built-in M.2 SSD slots. You can configure a RAID 5/6 array to achieve higher sequential or read-only cache speed similar to the performance of a RAID 10 array while maintaining high storage efficiency.

Source-side data deduplication

HBS combines backup, recovery and synchronization in a single QTS application, easily moving your data to local, remote and cloud storage as part of a comprehensive data backup and disaster recovery plan. With QuDedup technology that deduplicates data at the source, the efficiency of backing up multiple versions to destination storage is greatly improved while optimising storage utilisation. In the event of accidental data loss, HBS can also help you quickly restore your data.

Low latency cloud data access

The TVS-872N seamlessly integrates the NAS with leading cloud services. By deploying the cloud storage gateways and enabling the local cache on the NAS, you can seamlessly use the cloud for data storage, backup, and recovery with low-latency access, providing a hybrid cloud experience.

• Flexibly expand your storage capacity by connecting to cloud storage. You can take advantage of QTS apps to manage and edit your cloud files or monitor media files. HybridMount is ideal for online collaboration with file servers and for file-level data analysis.
• VJBOD Cloud supports mounting cloud storage objects as a volume or block-based LUN on a NAS. Block-based data transmission transfers random data and large files to the cloud in blocks, and only volume or LUN changes will be transmitted

The TVS-872N has an HDMI 2.0 port that supports 4K 60 Hz (3840 x 2160) output, providing superior resolution and colour realism for greater multimedia entertainment. By connecting the TVS-872N to an HDTV receiver via the HDMI output, you can directly display the multimedia content saved on the NAS in a larger screen.

QVR Pro Protects Your Environment

QNAP 's QVR Pro monitoring solution allows you to arrange a dedicated and independent storage space to monitor the data on the TVS-872N and enjoy the benefits of scale-out storage.

QVR Pro greatly simplifies camera management, storage allocation, live camera viewing and playback. You can also use USB webcams as network cameras with the QUSBCam2 app to remotely control your surveillance feeds at any time with the companion QVR Pro Client mobile app.

Protect your data with snapshots

Snapshots help protect your data by recording the entire NAS system state and metadata. If a file is accidentally deleted or modified, you can use the snapshots in Storage and Snapshot Manager or File Station to quickly restore the files to their previously saved state. QNAP snapshots are block-based and save only the changed data.

The TVS-872N supports up to 256 snapshots per volume/LUN and up to 1,024 snapshots in total.

Optimised collaboration with sharing and synchronisation

The TVS-872N centrally stores data and files, and supports SMB/CIFS, AFP, and NFS protocols for file sharing over Windows, Mac, and Linux/UNIX networks.

Combined with Qsync, a QNAP NAS utility that turns your NAS into a secure and high-capacity data centre for file synchronization, any file uploaded to the TVS-872N will be made available to all related devices, such as desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
