Super nice
Beautiful, you can see your configuration perfectly and the air flow is perfect. I totally recommend it.
Corsair Obsidian rangeThe world-class Obsidian Series enclosures are made of hardened steel and brushed aluminum for exceptional durability and great looks. Their advanced features are designed with the sole purpose of meeting the needs of professional assemblers, high-end system integrators and performance fans. The construction is simple and efficient. And it offers space for virtually any configuration imaginable. |
Tempered glass side panelsThe side panels of the Corsair Obsidian 500D RGB SE Premium case are made of tempered glass. A light "smoke" tint has been applied to the side panels for a beautiful, elegant yet discreet effect. Both panels open to allow easy access to components and the core of the system. This allows for easy maintenance and servicing. |
Optimal and scalable coolingThe Corsair Obsidian 500D RGB SE Premium comes standard with 3 x 120mm RGB fans in the front. However, if you want to optimize the cooling performance of your machine and push your components to the limit, you can add additional fans to the front (support for up to 3 120mm or 2 140mm fans) as well as to the top (up to 2 120mm or 140mm fans) or 1 120mm fan to the rear. It is also possible to install an AIO watercooling system with a 120, 140, 240, 280 or 360 mm radiator. |

Beautiful, you can see your configuration perfectly and the air flow is perfect. I totally recommend it.
I selected this box because it was practical due to its magnetic windows and the fact that it is basically RGB.
I had checked with LDLC beforehand, it comes with the Corsair Commander Pro and the RGB hub so I could connect all the fans provided.
The Commander Pro takes the place of an SSD slot compared to the classic 500D. And to top it all off, the missing SSD holder is included in the box. In addition, the unused Commander Pro connectors are also included.
The case has some neat tricks for mounting. I am thinking in particular of the fan or heat sink plates on the front and top of the case.
The management cable is nice, but with the RGB concept, there are so many wires in this case. Inevitable because of the RGB.
Another point, this new fashion of hiding the power supply is certainly aesthetic but it does not make it easy to assemble/dismantle the cables for the modular power supplies. It's a good idea to add an extra power cable to the bottom of the unit when everything is already mounted, so it's hard on the little guys. I read somewhere that the best solution is to take the power supply out, I have to test this, I still have PCI-E to install.
I have to test this, I still have PCI-E to install. Small inconvenience when I mounted the Corsair H115i heatsink on the top plate, the screws ended up turning in a vacuum, although I'm not a brute or I made a mistake in the assembly but I doubt it.
No surprise, it was in the contract if I dare say:
- No slot for a DVD drive but we use it less and less and I have one in USB
- No HDD activity LED, I think it's a shame even if it doesn't do much except maybe in case of a problem. The same goes for some sites.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use it for a few days.
Ideal case for office use! Quiet and not very imposing. I'm very happy with the way it's wired up! I recommend it.
Very good case, strong, robust and at the same time practical to install our beast inside ?? the whole with several integrated systems to allow the storage of cables, respecting of course the art of cabling.
I highly recommend ????
What can I say?
Strengths:
- Spacious
- Beautiful aesthetically! Really !
- Very functional (power supply cover, cable management, filters...)
- USB-C in front
- Very easy to open via glass doors with magnetic closure
Area for improvement :
- A filter for the rear fan? The ultimate bonus
All in all, nothing to say, it's art!
I've had it for a few months now, I was hesitating with the 750D model I saw at a friend's house before, but I don't regret the choice. It takes up less space and is super well ventilated. (think of buying an extra fan to put it at the back)
The 2 sides of the case can be opened in a way never seen before.
There is a place for all the cables to be hidden, it's not the easiest thing to do, but it's not something you change every 4 mornings.
If you couple this case with only SSDs, a be quiet! Dark Rock 4 ventirad, a silent graphics card (for my part an ASUS STRIX GTX 1070 OC --> 3 fans that are permanently off, even in some games), and a Seasonic FOCUS+ 750 W Platinum power supply, you will discover what ***SILENCE ABSOLUTE*** is! Your computer will make as much noise as an idea crosses your mind.... It's quite confusing at first but you get used to it!
This makes me a total of 9 fans, only 2 of which are always running. The Corsair iCue application is well done and apart from configuring the colours, it also allows you to define the activity of the case's fans according to the temperature of the sensor you want.
The fans provided start to sound from 900/950 rpm.
And to finish, the smoked side of the windows attenuates just enough the colours a little flash (for my taste) of the RGB fans, which embellishes the whole! In short, I recommend this box despite its price!
I recently bought this Corsair case and it's just great with its black tempered glass window, it looks great with a gaming setup and the RGB fans so you can see your whole system running, great cooling with the 3 RGB fans provided! It comes with the Corsair commander pro, what more could you ask for! LDLC is always on top of the game for fast delivery and well packaged so no risk of damage to the case! 100% I recommend this case for any type of configuration !!!!
I've chosen the obsidian prenium box from corsair for my new configuration! The finish and the materials used are of a very good quality! I highly recommend this product !!!!
