Multiple operating modesThe DAP-2020 offers seven different operating modes. These modes allow you to flexibly configure the device for different wireless applications. Access Point mode allows the device to act as a central hub for wireless users. Wireless client mode allows the DAP-2020 to connect to another access point. Bridge mode can link two networks via wireless communication, while Bridge with AP mode allows the device to act as a wireless hub and bridge at the same time.Repeater mode extends the wireless coverage to cover all dead spots. WISP Client Router mode allows wireless Internet subscribers to share an Internet connection with wired home/office computers without the need for an additional router. Hello.
I installed this WiFi access point two months ago. I have to reboot this equipment every day. Every time I go home, my mobile connects to an AP that is further away than the DAP2020 and I can't find it in the list of available WiFi at home. After rebooting, it's visible again and I can connect to it... Until the next day.
So I'm going to ask for an exchange.
Very easy to use and configure despite the wide range of operating modes. Completely KISS.
The killer feature: there is a switch on the back. And you realise that you don't always have to keep it on.
The only negative point is that the manufacturer's website says "Open Source Linux" but the source code doesn't jump out at you. And it is not (yet?) in the list of hardware supported by openwrt.
Set up as a WIFI access point, bridge function and wifi
This is not the first Dlink I have used: NAS, switch, wifi
I bought two.
The installation is easy and the performance is good.
However, the first one, installed in November 2020 and out of order in August 2021. The WiFi diode went out, no more communication possible on ethernet either although the diode is blinking. No more DHCP, neither server nor client and Factory reset not working. Good to go in 9 months,
I'm crossing my fingers for the second one.
I'm ordering a replacement in case it's a bad batch.
