5 Gigabit ports
Gigabit ports provide a cost-effective alternative to fibre. Using your low-cost Cat.5 twisted pair copper cables as the transmission medium, these ports allow you to instantly upgrade your servers to Gigabit capacity without the need to install expensive new fibre cables. All ports support automatic 10/100/1000Mbps network speed detection and automatic full/half duplex negotiation.

The D-Link GO-SW-5G 5-port switch is ideal for fast file transfers. Each port has a status LED to quickly identify connection status.
Self-adjusting ports in MDI/MDI-X
All ports automatically adjust to MDI/MDI-X crossover or straight-through, eliminating the need for crossover cables or uplink ports. Any port can be connected to the server, a hub or another switch using traditional twisted pair straight-through cable.
IEEE 802.3x Flow Control
This feature allows servers to connect directly to the switch for fast and efficient data transfers. At 2000 Mbps full duplex, these switches enable high-speed data transport to your servers with minimal data transfer loss.
Environmentally friendly
The GO-SW-5G has been designed with the environment in mind. It is Energy Star Level V, CEC, and MEPS compliant, requiring the use of energy efficient power adapters. It is also RoHS compliant, reducing the use of certain hazardous materials, and comes with an EnergyStar Level V compliant power adapter, all in fully recyclable packaging.

Ok a 1gb switch, small, neat, efficient.
BUT it doesn't match the photo in the article = OLD model, with LEDs on the front (which I would have liked), whereas the NEW DLINK (received) no longer has them!
Another drawback is that it can't be fixed, there are no holes for the screws underneath so it can be placed against a wall...

I'm very pleased with the quality of the product.
This little switch does its job, while being quite pretty. Only the power supply could use a little more care in its appearance. The data rates are good, even with several devices connected. Reliability seems to be good: I've been using several of these switches for a few years for work, and they don't show any signs of fatigue.
