The power of gigabit, at home
Need a powerful but small network? Consider the GS600 series from NETGEAR. These switches are small, inexpensive and will give you comfortable bandwidth in your home. These switches are packaged with easy-to-use features to make your approach to the network easier. Their compact design makes them comfortable to use, whether they're laid flat or on the cradle, in any environment. The GS605 and GS608 can handle large files such as multimedia, video, games, access the Internet or use any application on your network in a snap. They can coexist with 10/100/1000 Mbps devices because they respect network standards. Their fanless design will allow you to focus solely on your game or relax with music. The NETGEAR GS600 Series will provide you with performance and reliability.
Capable
Transfer huge files with 5 or 8 autosense 10/100/1000 ports. With full duplex Gigabit Ethernet over copper, you'll reach speeds of 2000 Mbps on each port.
Intelligent
You'll integrate devices at 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps and respect Layer 2 priority tags. Each port automatically adjusts to the correct speed and duplex mode. Plus, Auto Uplink technology adjusts for straight-through and crossover cable types.
Stylish
Whether placed flat or on the stand, the GS605 and GS608 look good in any environment.
Well designed
Front panel LEDs make it easy to view network settings. The fanless design prevents noise. It is compatible with most PC and Mac OS network operating systems.
Green power management
The GS605 has an intelligent power supply that allows you to save energy and help the planet. It automatically shuts down when there is no activity, and only powers the ports that are in use. It detects the length of the cables used to provide the right power to each port. This means that maximum power is only required for cable lengths of 10 metres or more.

Works perfectly but does not reach 2000mbps:
I'm with Free and by connecting my PC directly to the box I reach 1600mbps.
but when I put the switch between the two, the network only goes up to around 980 mbps
and not the 2000 promised on the product specifications.
After that it's very easy to use; just plug it in, no settings or buttons to press.
Plug and play.
Small and sturdy. Even for the power supply box.
Brilliantly replaces my old, big and slow netgear router-switch.
I needed a new switch due to some work.
I already had two other Netgear switches with 8 ports, so the choice was quick.
I'm very pleased with the quality and price of the equipment.
The Netgear GS605 I received does not correspond to the picture: there are no big numbers but small green LEDs. Contrary to the description, it does not have a stand. Apart from that, no problem.
