Very useful model to choose your OS and HDD without multiboot software. My machine is both a W10 and debian without me having to write to the master boot. I have samsung HDD and kingston SSD's. The first one delivered was faulty, the connector of the HDD came out at the first extraction and was impossible to put back. I had to secure the connector with a drop of loctite, the loctite is conductive.) Since this product works perfectly, it is only happiness.
Overall, it is a very good product and this is where we see that too much safety kills safety and that progress can also make universality obsolete.
1/ the power buttons on the units can indeed be activated accidentally if the case is placed under a table for example.
2/ 2.5" disks that are too thin cannot be removed mechanically once they have been inserted - this is the case with all SSDs that are not equipped with risers - but this is a defect that I have already noticed in some hot-swap cases for this format and this is also why some SSD manufacturers make up for these shortcomings with inserts.
Apart from that, the product is robust and reliable enough not to penalise it too much.
Good product, very practical in use.
small drawbacks however:
1. need to apply a layer on the top side of thin ssd's for first time insertion and removal.
2. the power buttons are not flush with the front of the rack and regular power down (in the case of a tower on the floor) is done by a simple touch of the knee for example, very annoying in the case of a system disk.
3.The aesthetics of the dust cover are rather crude.
Very practical rack works without problem with Windows 7,
This rack allows you to choose your hard drive before starting up, 7mm ssd drives are compatible as long as you make a small modification on the drive.
On the edge of the disk, flush with the connector, I glued a small strip of epoxy printed dircuit of 1.6mm thick and 3mm wide with araldite, so that the disk can be removed without any problem.

Very good product except that it is not designed for SSDs.
Test with different HDD 2.5 OK models (Toshiba/Samsung)

No more opening and closing the tower to test hard drives or do disk-to-disk transfers.
The only downside is that if your SSD is 7mm thick, the pull-out button can't pull the SSD out of its slot, but other than that it's a very practical dock and given its price it would be silly to do without it.
