The ICY DOCK ToughArmor RAID MB902SPR-B R1 rack supports 2 x 2.5" SSD/HDD in a 5.25" bay. The MB902SPR-B R1 features an integrated hardware RAID chipset and easy-to-read RAID status LED indicators, allowing you to effortlessly mirror 2.5" drives for data redundancy and RAID status monitoring, without the need for a RAID card or RAID monitoring software.
The integrated RAID chipset performs all calculations without using system resources, improving system performance over motherboard RAID or software RAID. In addition, removable drive trays and hot-swap functionality allow you to replace a failed drive without shutting down the system, making the MB902SPR-B R1 the perfect drive rack for any mission-critical IT system, such as industrial automation and file server systems.
Integrated RAID 1 and JBOD
Thanks to the integrated JMS562 RAID chipset, you can effortlessly add a RAID 1 array to any computer system using a SATA connection without the need for a RAID controller card or a RAID-compatible motherboard. Simply connect the ToughArmor RAID enclosure to the system's SATA and power ports, insert two 2.5" hard disks, and the ToughArmor automatically mirrors the disks for data redundancy to prevent data loss or system downtime caused by hard disk failure. In addition, the added JBOD mode allows you to view two individual drives (SATA port multiplier required) or erase the RAID table of drives without using disk erase software or MS-DOS commands.
EZ-Slide Interchangeable System
The ToughArmor MB901SPR-B R1 features all-metal EZ-Slide removable drive trays, allowing the user to install or remove drives without opening the computer case or turning it off. The EZ-Slide tray supports 2.5" SSD/HDD drives 5-15mm in height and is compatible with ToughArmor racks including MB991SK-B / MB991IK-B (1 drive), MB994IPO-3SB / MB602SPO-B (2 drives), and MB607SP-B / MB994SP-4S / MB994SP-4SB-1 (4 drives). This allows you to continue to use the same disk trays in these enclosures and swap disks between systems without removing the disk from the tray.
