Good quality
I noticed a clear difference in fibre throughput thanks to this switch. The intelligent bandwidth function on the ports that are only used is very interesting and allows maximum throughput. So I'd recommend this equipment.

This switch will not warm up your long winter evenings!
More seriously, unlike my previous switches, it does not heat up at all. A priori, a good point for the reliability.
One of the few metal Ethernet Switches with the 5 ports on the back.
It has no complaints about its main function of routing data streams.
But the display is very directional, not very readable beyond 20cm if the switch is fixed vertically.
Good to know: power connector on the left and not on the back as usual and no indication of the speed (10/100/1000Mbps) on the current version (V5.0).
Very good finish.

Very easy to install: just connect the cables and it works.
No slowdown in throughput felt, for a use for 2 PCs (in telecommuting) with simultaneous visios (box connected to the fiber then cables in S/FTP cat 5e or 6)
No heat build-up noted either.
So perfect as a router.
Metal frame switch working very well. I agree with one of the comments that the power socket on the left hand side rather than the traditional one on the back - where the RJ45 ports are - is not very practical... Hence the minus star
This is my second TEG-S50G and it works very well. One star less, however, because Trendnet probably wanted to cut costs: compared to the model I bought two years ago, there is now only one diode per door; the power cable now plugs into the left side, which is less convenient.
