Powering down standby ports
When a computer or network device is turned off, the corresponding port on a conventional switch still consumes a lot of power. The TL-SL1016D automatically detects the connection status of each port and reduces the power consumption of ports that are in standby mode.
Power management by cable length
Logically, short cables should consume less power because of the low signal degradation along their length. However, this is not the case with most devices as they consume the same amount of power regardless of length.
Easy to use
The automated features of this Gigabit switch make installation quick and easy. No configuration is required. The Auto MDI/MDX feature eliminates the need for crossover cables.
