Very good product
Given the low price, I was expecting a low-end screen with major flaws: poor white homogeneity, messy colours, clouding, etc. I wanted to try it out because I wanted a fast, curvature-free screen, and it's slowly becoming unobtainable. I wanted to try it out because I wanted a fast, curvature-free 32-inch, and that's slowly becoming unobtainable.
Well, not at all. This £300 screen (after LDLC promotion) is excellent. No banding, almost invisible clouding in the dark, excellent overdrive for a VA panel, no dead pixels in my case so far (but that's just my luck), a well-developed firmware with a fully usable BFI (called ELMB by Asus), decent colours, in short, it's a real winner so far.
After testing, I find that a slight curvature is more appropriate for this 32-inch size. My other 32-inch screen, curved at 1800R, is more comfortable from that point of view. Below 30 inches, the curvature is not justifiable, but at 32 inches I think it's debatable.
Another satisfactory but not excellent point is contrast, which is of course good because it's a VA panel, but not amazing either. My other Dell monitor (also bought from LDLC) does a little better in this respect.
