Switch designed for AV over IP
The NETGEARM4250-16XF switch is designed for AV over IP. It features SFP+ ports on the rear panel to ensure seamless integration into AV racks. The M4250 switch is pre-configured for standard audio and video signals. For specific requirements, an AV user interface allows customisation with predefined profiles. Dante, Q-SYS and AES67 audio profiles are available, the AVB profile requires an AVB license sold separately. For video, the M4250 offers NVX, SVSI, Q-SYS, NDI, Dante, etc. as well as mixed audio/video/control profiles. When multiple switches are connected, NETGEAR IGMP Plus technology allows you to automate connections.
Full support for Audio Video Bridging
One of the many features of the new M4250 Series is full support for Audio Video Bridging (AVB), the standard for transporting content over the network. AVB is most often used where low latency is required, such as in live transmission where synchronisation is essential. All M4250 AV switches can be licensed to support AVB.

- 16 SFP+ 1G/10G fibre ports
- Fanless mode possible with maximum ambient temperature of 25 ºC. 75ºC internal sensor and 8 SFP+ ports used
- Maximum noise level of 27.44dBA at 25ºC when all ports are used
- 1U rack mount (200mm deep) with front panel display indicating status of rear ports
- Reverse mounting option with ports on the front
- Universal mounting options outside the rack with lower M5 screws and front M10 threaded holes
- Pre-configured for IP-based audio and video outputs
- Dedicated graphical AV user interface for more specific AV installations
- Colour AV profiles can be applied to individual ports
- Dante, Q-SYS, AES67 and AVB audio profiles
- AVB requires an AVB4212P-10000S license (sold separately)
- NVX, SVSI, Q-SYS, NDI and Dante video profiles
- Audio / video / mixed profile control
- Automatic switch interconnection with NETGEAR IGMP Plus
- Layer 2 and 3 switching matrix on all M4250 models
- Web-based graphical user interface, console, Telnet and SSH compatible with other NETGEAR M4xxx series switches
- Features include static routing, RIP and PIM, DHCP and PTP server
