Easily add 12 more drive bays to a Synology DiskStation. With support for 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives, the Synology DX1215II is a flexible solution that can support on-the-fly volume expansion as well as serve as a local backup destination. The DX1215II's additional bays, managed from DiskStation Manager on the host NAS, are immediately ready for use upon login. On-the-fly volume expansion ensures that storage and services are not interrupted during volume expansion.
The DX1215II's hot-swappable disk trays allow for easy installation and replacement of disks without having to power down the system. The screwless disk tray design reduces system installation time. The Synology DX1215II can be used as a dedicated local backup solution for the compatible Synology DiskStation. When created as a separate volume, the DX1215II provides a valuable backup solution to its local disks in case of system failure.
