I bought this hard drive to put on my server in // addition to another identical hard drive that I already had. This was to create a redundancy on my personal server
Use: Synology home NAS (with also multimedia to the TV) has been working perfectly for a few weeks. The hard drive I bought previously has been working perfectly for several years.
Shipping : Nickel & fast
I recommend to go there with peace of mind
No opinion to give as it is a product made to last for several years. It could not prove itself in a fortnight. Receipt ok and assembly ok.
Disk for NAS (in 3rd place). I'm pretty happy with the brand.
But the elements of choice are a bit obscure.
Reading this article pointed me to :

Preferring to (try to) guarantee my reliability by putting in a few extra euros compared to RAID without the "extra".
The disk was received in good condition, well packed and protected (phew, a very good point). A quick test with CrystalDiskInfo shows that it has not suffered and that the disk is operational. However, this is NOT a 7200 rpm drive as stated in the data sheet, BUT ONLY a 5400 rpm drive... I'm not sure if it's the right drive for the job, but I'm sure it's the right drive for the job, and I'm not sure if it's the right drive for the job. It's a good idea to look at the LDLC datasheet only (so thanks for correcting that). It's a detail, but in my case it changed a lot of things... hence the 5/10 rating.
