Specifically designed for 1 to 8 bay NAS systems, Western Digital Red hard drives are built to run 24/7, and are aimed at home and small office environments. These 3.5" hard drives are built around 64 to 256 MB of cache on a SATA III bus. They are compatible with most major NAS servers.
Western Digital's exclusive NASware technology , built into all WD Red hard drives, enhances the storage performance of NAS systems by eliminating common compatibility, integration, upgrade, reliability, and cost of ownership issues found in traditional desktop hard drives.
NASware optimizes power consumption to achieve significant energy savings and minimize hard drive operating temperatures. This improves overall drive reliability and performance and reduces the cost of ownership of your NAS system.
With intelligent error recovery commands , NASware prevents hard drives from being excluded from RAID through improved error recovery. This results in better availability and less time wasted rebuilding the RAID. With command completion for improved reliability, in the event of a power failure NASware minimises data corruption or loss by still executing the current command before shutting down.

This is the 4th and final 10TB drive I've ordered to fill my ASUSTOR NAS also purchased from LDLC. As soon as I get back from holiday, I'll mount all 4 of them and I'll be able to store my collection of movies and series.
