Very easy to install hard drive, small case so discreet. Numerous utilities and very quick to learn. It's a great product for a family. I'm sure it will be a great product to have.
Perfect for home use, much faster than my old syno dj115. Relatively simple setup, listening to music stored on the server from the car in 4G is latency free and seamless, this was the original intended use.
I was a bit worried about the previous reviews which suggested that the power supply was a recurring problem, but following Qnap's reply that they have taken the necessary measures to avoid future inconveniences I decided to give it a go. So far everything is working, the power supply is not making any noise, fingers crossed.
The NAS itself is fully satisfied. It is necessary to take the time to configure everything at the beginning and to dive a little into it but the tutorials on the site of Qnap are rather clear (it is necessary nevertheless to have notions of partitioning of disc to understand well what one makes).
I have never had a problem accessing it either locally or from the internet, no untimely disconnections at all after a month and a half of use. The mobile apps do their job well, even if we regret that in the photo app for example, we can't sort them as we want (date of shooting, date of import, weight, location, etc)
I've made different folders and that gets around the problem, but it's a shame when you see what Google photos can do (after all, the security of our data has its limitations too)
I've never had to restart the NAS for the moment, except once for it to do an update, so it's really perfect! It's the best value for money.
Out of order after less than 6 months!
The power supply seems to be putting out way more voltage than it should. And, it makes a very slight sizzling noise... even when unplugged.
The NAS won't boot up... even with another (working) power supply. It's a "brick" now.
Is the power supply the culprit?
Too bad... I liked it.
Thank you for your feedback. We will take your comment into account. QNAP does everything possible to improve the quality of our products. If you have any problems, please do not hesitate to contact LDLC support for a quick response.
Excellent speeds (much better than my old Synology) and intuitive interface and very quiet.
I had it for 4 months without any problems (used daily by the family for photos/videos/etc.) and then this morning it doesn't turn on even though it is very well ventilated, clean and behind an inverter.
I'm waiting for a new power supply but it seems to be a common problem on this product line. (I'm waiting for the after sales service, this one will surely want the hard drive and I would like to keep the data on it)
Thank you for your very constructive feedback. Qnap has taken all the necessary steps on this product range to avoid future problems.
