I wasn't surprised by the product, I'd looked at a few websites before buying. It's easy to use. All you have to do is connect your sound via Bluetooth, it's stable, simple and practical. After that, you can go further and discover lots of options.
On LDLC, it was the price & product availability that attracted me. Not disappointed! Ordered on a Thursday evening, delivered the following Saturday.
This Pre-Ampli DAC has the advantage of elaborating the sound and standardising the musical quality of the various digital sources, making for pleasant listening using a single application.
Since updating to MusicCast Controller v4, all UPnP servers or clients in my house are detected EXCEPT MY NAS where I have stored a lot of music. On the other hand, PLEX and VLC access the NAS normally whatever the platform used (Shield, PC, smartphone).
The software part (the Android app) totally spoils the interest of this device that I will soon resell if YAMAHA doesn't fix its app FAST.
The product meets my expectations.
The operation in WIFI with Spotify from a SAMSUNG mobile phone also on WIFI is not satisfactory for the adjustment of the sound level from the application, despite the update of the firmware => one star less.
The volume level can be adjusted by pressing the volume + or - buttons on the mobile phone. The level has to be increased on the Musiccast with the remote control or the volume button.
On the other hand, it works well in BT with the 4G+ network or WIFI for the connection to Spotify via the mobile phone.
Not yet tried in Ethernet (home network in progress) and with a NAS. It will be for this summer.
Already, no need to connect to the AUX input of the amp with a 3.5 jack.
Excellent quality/price ratio all the same.
Perfect for those who want to easily listen to all their music sources on their hi-fi system: PC, smartphone, tablet, Qobuz, internet radio, etc.
But above all, excellent sound quality with an ethernet connection for those who don't believe that you need to spend 1000 € or more to benefit from it.
Finally, as always, LDLC is at the top of its game when it comes to commercial service.
Excellent streamer, easy to set up? first with wifi, but high resolution files don't play, so ethernet connection and superb sound with Qobuz Hires subscription. excellent value for money.
I switched from a Sonos Connect (very plug and play and very user friendly) to the Wxc-50.
The result: the Sonos is more user-friendly (Android and Windows interface). On the other hand, the Wxc-50 largely surpasses the Sonos in musical quality.
With a Hifi quality music streaming service such as Qobuz Hifi, the wxc-50 connected to a quality amp and speakers, delivers excellent quality sound.
In short, this purchase is nothing but musical happiness despite a more basic management interface than that of Sonos
