Fast Ethernet Media Converter MC100CM


The MC100CM media converter is designed to convert 100BASE-FX fibre to 100BASE-TX copper media and vice versa. Designed according to the IEEE 802.3u 10/100 Base-TX and 100 Base-FX standards, the MC100CM must be used with a multimode fibre cable and an SC type connector. The MC100CM supports the Long Wave Laser (LX) specification at the maximum transmission speed. Data transmission and reception operate at 1310 nm.

The various features of this module allow you to use it also as a stand-alone device (chassis not required) or with TP-LINK's 19" system chassis, auto MDI/MDI-X for TX port, auto-negotiation of bi-directional mode and indicator LEDs on the front panel. The MC100CM transmits over extended fibre distances using multimode fibre up to 2 kilometres.

    Can be used to make a diode

    Functional transceiver, with the possibility of doing unidirectional UDP transfer by connecting only one optical fibre to the two (but three transceivers are needed as both sockets must be connected for it to work).
