The DES-1024D is an unmanaged 10/100Mbps switch designed to enhance workgroups while providing flexibility. Powerful, it allows you to use any port to connect to a network at either 10Mbps or 100Mbps, increase bandwidth, improve response time and meet heavy load demands.
Its intelligent ports detect network speed and automatically negotiate between 100Base-TX and 10Base-T and also between full and half duplex modes. They support flow control. This feature minimises lost packets by sending collision signals when the receiving port buffer is full.
All ports also support MDI/ MDI-X auto-negotiation. This feature eliminates the need for a crossover cable or uplink port. Any port can simply connect to a server, hub or other switch using a single straight-through twisted pair cable.
With a very low connection cost per port, this switch can be installed for direct connections from PCs. Thus, bottlenecks are relieved by providing each station with a dedicated bandwidth on the network.
