I'm only giving it 3 stars, because it's a very good motherboard BUT there's a major problem with the Intel I226-V network chipset, a problem that was already known on the previous version of the chipset but that hasn't been fixed.
The card frequently and randomly loses the connection for no reason when you're using 2.5Gb/s (it doesn't do this with 1Gb/s).
It's frustrating not to be able to use your connection to its full potential because the card, even though it's compatible, isn't stable, and the manufacturer doesn't release ANY corrective patches.
It's frustrating to have to spend money on a new network card in order to take full advantage.
Apart from this problem, which caused me quite a bit of trouble before I found the real cause and resolved it by switching to 1Gb/s, I have nothing else to criticise about the motherboard, which fulfils its role perfectly.
The updated Bios allows you to use the 14th generation, so it's a big plus if I want to put in a newer processor later on. The whole card is very well thought out and it has the thermal paste for M.2 ssd's.
From a hardware point of view, the card lived up to my expectations. The only problem I found was with the Bios interface. As a former Gigabyte user, it's a bit confusing. But hey, I'm sure I'll be able to tame the beast. But apart from that, the card is as functional as I could wish for, the connectivity is more than adequate and everything is done to make cable management easier. I'm in.
Mounted with an i5-13600K processor, G.skill ripjaws 6000 C30 memory, RTX3060ti graphics card.
The cooler is a noctua NH-ND15S, the letter S is important.
Installation of Linux xubuntu 22.04.2, kernel 6.2, native recognition of LAN and Wi-Fi, although audio is only accessible on the motherboard socket, not on the front panel remote.
Installing Win11 on another disk, LAN ok, audio ok (all sockets) the Wi-Fi driver was installed afterwards
Now, in the pointillism, there is no FAN chassis connector on the high side of the motherboard. The only one accessible to the cable from my case is in the centre of the board... under the ventirad. It wouldn't have worked with a Noctua ND15 ventirad model (without the S) unless it had been plugged in before the ventirad was fitted.
Installed in a new PC, I had taken the "BIOS update" option and the latest version of the BIOS was installed on the day I received it.
There was a bit of a mix-up when I went to collect the equipment (LDLC IT problem) but in the end I received it within 6 working days.
The card is working properly at the moment, RAS. Windows 11 installation which requires a network connection. As a result, I had to handle the driver via USB key as part of the installation procedure.
The Armoury Crate software is installed when W11 starts up at some point, and then the drivers are installed via this software.
No problems at the moment.
Works very well. Warning: very recent motherboard and you have to install the wifi drivers by hand when installing Windows. Would recommend. Also well packaged.
LDLC is top notch, Asus is top notch, I recommend it, it's reliable, it performs well, in short it's pleasant, good equipment that works like a charm!
don't forget to update the bios.
The motherboard is perfect and very nice with its argb.
The only negative point is that it stays on even though the computer is switched off.
The card looks good and has good connections.
The audio for gaming is a horror, some sounds are very loud at 60 db and others at 20 db.
I've tried everything, even without the Asus drivers, and after 5 solutions proposed by ldlc, there must be a dolby surround or something like that integrated that makes a mess. I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but I'm sure it's a good idea to have a little more time to think about it, and I'm sure it's a good idea to have a little more time to think about it.
Compatible with my i7 13700kf processor, this motherboard has everything to please on the plan quite complete connection!
To see in time but never disappointed by MSI
