Fast delivery, quality packaging (hard drive in its original plastic packaging in a rigid cardboard box adjusted to the size, itself in another larger one with well fixed wedges). Installation without problems. Works flawlessly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Used for backup on external hard drive, fixed for 2 years
Delivery: no memory problems
Compliance: size OK
Functionality: speed and reliability adapted to the use
Compatibility: no problem of recognition for Linux
Installation: plugs into its LDLC Chrome Box 3.5" external hard drive enclosure without any problem
Product well received and well protected. Super easy to install and not too messy when it scratches.
When the package was opened, the two discs (in their protective cardboard case) were lying on the bottom, covered by the padding.
There was enough padding to put on either side to improve protection.
The disc I'm using works fine, there's no reason why the second one (still in its anti-static case) shouldn't work too.
But, again: pay attention to the distribution of the protective padding.
Hard drive doing the job of storage but for some reason it's shutting down in my Synology NAS. I have to reboot it and redo the RAID every fortnight or so....Bizarre.
Good disk, not expensive, a little noisy especially at the beginning I think.
Installed without problems in a NAS
It's a good idea to check it out in the long run.
I've been using it for a while now, but it's a good one.
Fast delivery as usual.
Very good product.
Installed in an Asustor NAS.2 bays no problem.
Bought to replace an old 1TB WD from 2009 which is starting to fail (11 years and 48000 hours).
Formatted in GPT (I had forgotten the trick for drives over 2TB) and installed in an external case on my desk. Recognized immediately.
No audible noise, no scratching when empty.
To be seen in the long run.
Good hard drive for storage, a bit slow and noisy in use. Well, if it's not a speed beast, it's a very honest product. The price/performance ratio is correct.
the product is mainly used to store multimedia data, photo, audio and video, on a file server.
I'm not worried about anything in particular, it's not noisy, except that some slowdowns are visible when playing on older motherboards, only locally, so no worries when playing in streaming or ssh.
I have purchased two copies of this product. One for immediate use as a parity drive on a Unraid NAS to eventually increase the overall capacity of the NAS and the second as a spare.
In fact the first disk mounted on the NAS works without any problem and without any error reported after verification by Unraid.
The second disk was used in the wake of the loss of a Seagate data disk of the same capacity. So the same thing, mounting, preclear and data restoration without any problem.
Now it remains to be seen how it will hold up over time, which I can't say anything about yet.
As far as noise is concerned, no opinion, there are 6 disks, so it's difficult to say who makes noise and who doesn't.
The read/write speeds have not been tested either, as I don't need any particular characteristics.
I don't regret my purchase.
It is a bit noisy but for storage it is perfect.
It is a bit slow compared to other faster and more "expensive" brands. For the price it's normal. It's up to you to decide what you want.
I am fully satisfied with it.
Bought as a backup drive, the drive works well. The performance is not extraordinary but it was expected so no surprise there. I find the drive quite noisy, which is not a problem for me as I don't have to access it often, but for those who want to use it as a primary drive, I don't recommend it. Otherwise, as a backup drive, it is perfect.
Serte, it's 4TB, it's currently the cheapest in 3"1/2 and the performance is decent. But it makes a terrible noise sometimes! It's not systematic and it's quite irregular. But I haven't found a solution for the moment and I find it so unpleasant!
Having an old half-tower PC too slow for Windows 10, and the need for a capacity NAS without security to store movies ... I bought 2 P300 4TO, installed the openmediavault software, and I'm happy ! The simplest RAID (not redundant) of 7,21TO is very quickly online and delivers a transfer rate of 80MO/s between my machines.
Bought these drives for use in a Synology NAS.
Low noise and good performance for what I need them for.
Very good quality/price ratio
As usual, the LDLC delivery was top notch
The disc is quite quiet. The more rustic, but still very well finished appearance, as well as its high weight compared to other brands, inspires confidence.
The writing and reading performance is well above that of my old HDD from 8 years ago. Logical but appreciable.
I'll have to see how it holds up in a few years but for now I'm very happy with it.
bought to save data, a bit noisy at times. sometimes slow to react but it doesn't matter because of the low price.
good packaging
Very fast delivery in relay point.
For storing large amounts of data, this is fine, but don't expect high write speeds. This is inherent to the technology used (platter disks, 5400 rpm). In my opinion, the first price at Seagate or elsewhere will not do better. In the end, for the price, it's very good.
I bought these 2 Toshiba P300 4TB HDDs to be installed in a Silverstone TS231U-C enclosure in Raid 1 configuration. The enclosure instantly recognized the 2 drives. Everything is as I expected. Perfect value for money, I recommend this product.
... Synology DS212j, the replacement of the 2 old disks by 2 Toshiba P300 4Tb disks did not pose any problem.
I'm not a warrior in terms of performance, but for backups in a NAS, it's fine.
