High-end gamer screen
I won't go into a technical review of the screen, as there are plenty of very detailed ones on the web. My impression after a month's use is that the main strong points of this screen are :
- The picture quality even with the factory setting. You have to love the Samsung touch with very vibrant colours (a little exaggerated) but it really gives a striking contrast effect;
- The build quality of the screen itself, with its fairly thin edges and light grey metallic-effect plastic, looks really good and doesn't feel cheap;
- Provided you already have a Samsung device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.), integration into the eco-system is a pleasure, even if there are a few bugs when it comes to duplicating the image or remote control.
The default interface is a little too busy, but it can be configured to provide at least some useful quick-access menus. The remote control is an interesting bonus but not essential. I didn't use the stand as I have an arm set up, but when I unpacked it from the box, I was impressed by its quality and robustness. At 900€ (during the sales), I really consider it to be a good deal for this range of screen (OLED 4K, 240Hz and more), beyond that we may have to wait for the arrival of faster panels to bring the initial price of this screen down a little.
