An elephant in the corridor
The best Fan CPU on the 2023 market, while we await the first results from the Dark Rock Pro 5 in terms of heat performance, sound and longevity (a Mobius quality). However, behind these fundamental qualities lie weak ergonomics and a somewhat crude design where the competition shines in terms of homogeneity.
The big Mobius stands out for its dark blue-oil livery in contrast to the black metal block. Its edge is hollow and doesn't allow you to wind its 4-pin cable. From an aesthetic point of view, it gives the impression of a patch. The Mobius's metal and wire fasteners are impractical when it comes to installing it (attach the bottom one first). Installing or plugging anything into the top half of the motherboard requires this part to be unclipped, as the whole unit is so bulky. Otherwise there is a risk that it will come off at the slightest impact. The advantage of this type of fixing is that the external fan is easy to replace. Installing or removing RAM bars in A1 and A2, for example, will be complicated because the radiator and fan are so close to these slots. Fine fingers will be needed to plug in and remove the motherboard's 12V power supply or the cpu_fan plug. Naturally, the block prevents fans from being fitted to the top rail of a medium-format case. If you prefer the aesthetics of the inside of the PC, don't bother. The size of the block hides a large half of the top of the motherboard. In short, we've reached the limits of size and ergonomics on an ATX card.
If I had to pick out three words to describe this product, they would be: efficient, massive and silent.
