At one end of the GO link is a USB-C connector, and at the other end are the DAC and headphone amp circuits, both housed in robust but lightweight magnesium alloy cases. Between the two is a 6cm length of flexible cable - this helps with practicality, allowing the DAC/amplifier section to be angled towards the listener and reducing the strain on the USB port to which the GO link is connected.
At the heart of the GO link is a high-performance, power-efficient DAC chip from ESS Technology's Sabre HiFi series - the ES9219MQ/Q - featuring the 32-bit HyperStream III architecture. Combined with Quad DAC + and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technologies, as well as iFi Audio's dedicated clock circuitry using a specialised crystal oscillator, this GO link delivers ultra-low distortion, excellent clarity and impressive dynamic range. High-end features such as adjustable analogue gain with DRE (Dynamic Range Enhancement) as well as technologies to minimise THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and crosstalk are possible thanks to the advanced specifications of the DAC chip.
The GO link is equipped with a gold-plated 3.5mm mini jack, incorporating S-Balanced configuration to reduce noise and crosstalk. It delivers 70mW of output power at 32 ohms and a maximum output voltage of 2.05V at 600 ohms. This gives it plenty of punch to drive all types of headphones and earphones that might be used and easily outperforms the built-in headphone outputs of smartphones and computers.
