Fingers crossed that it works
CM installation = no boot. CPU/Mem error lights on the CM. I'm going over all the tests I've run with different components, nothing changes. According to the asrock site, ryzen 5 5500 requires bios 2.30 and the card seems to be in BIOS 1.80
Ticket to LDLC support = proposal to flash the BIOS. I am advised to call the shop to be sure that the service is possible. One call to the shop later and I'm off.
When I got there, the first surprise was that the calls were handled by a platform in Lyon. I wonder why I was asked to call the shop since it is not the shop that answers?
The LDLC employee listens to my story and plugs in the card... it doesn't boot. Several manipulations later, while discussing the refund terms, 2nd surprise: there will be no refund but a credit note. During this time, the system boots. The LDLC representative and I are in "????" mode... but well, here we go for the flash.
Reboot after flash. It doesn't boot. Again for a series of reboot / reset but nothing happens.
While the LDLC technician fills in the file to declare the failure, in a burst of clemency, the motherboard boots.
I ask to go through the credit card to change the MC: refusal, it is no longer possible.
I pay 24.95€ for the intervention and I go home.
Back home... it doesn't boot. It's the same behaviour, after several resets and reboots and waiting phases, the system starts.
Except when I want to go into the BIOS which results in a complete crash one time out of three, the system seems to work.
I'm not sure if it's a good one or not, but I'm sure it's a good one.
The LDLC support is friendly but you can feel the pressure of the commercial objectives on the employees rather than the satisfaction of the customer.
