The first models of the brand with an almost daily use always worked well but the switch on was a problem.
On this new model this problem seems to be solved â€" see with time.
I chose this brand (French) because of the possibility to load .Epub books and not to be almost obliged to go through the priority sites (Amazon or Fnac,)
I'm just a novice in the use of e-readers, and this little piece of technology, which can be taken everywhere, is very appreciable and comfortable.
I'm not sure how to use it, but it's a good idea to check it out and see if it's working properly and if it's working properly. But in fact, it is the display technology of the e-readers that wants this, and you get used to it quickly. Even prolonged reading remains very pleasant. The eye comfort is indisputable!
The online library is rich, the DRM LCP technology allows you to free yourself from Adobe's oppression, the backlighting is well adjustable, night mode validated, the settings are clear and without excess, the various functions are relatively ergonomic and accessible when you need them... Nothing to complain about
My first choice was the Kobo Libra H2O e-reader, which I particularly liked both for its hardware and software ergonomics. However, I was forced to return this e-reader, which was too capricious with the recognition of Ebooks other than those from the Kobo or Fnac bookstores. The Kobo phone support was unable to provide satisfactory answers.
My second choice was the Bookeen HD Diva, a choice suggested by the public lending libraries. In use, I am satisfied with this reader even if I regret the ergonomics of my first choice.
Rather small, this Booken HD Diva fits in a jacket pocket. It is rather thick and heavy, and gives an impression of robustness. It is also one of the few readers that accepts LCP DRM as an alternative to Adobe DRM.
I give it a 10 for efficient and responsive support: by email, by phone, and possibly by remote intervention on the e-reader, which amounts to real online training.
This is the first e-reader I've bought, and after reading the various comparisons, it seemed like a good value for money mid-range choice, and the online bookstore seems well stocked.
After a few hours of use, some recurring bugs came to light (black flash when changing page, screen freezing...). So I tried to update the operating system because I had seen on the site that a new version was available, but I couldn't update it. This was my first contact with the technical service :) And it was also at this moment that I started to reconcile myself with this device, because the technical service is rather reactive. So I managed to get the update that fixes the most annoying bugs.
It should be noted that the operating system is brand new, so there is a lot of room for improvement.
Note also that the whole thing is developed by a French company, so in my opinion it is worth being patient.
