good quality
The screen is of good quality. The resolution is well taken into account on an old AMD R9 280x card and also on the recent intel A380. It's a shame that the power supply has a separate transformer.
With its 24-inch IPS panel and QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, the Philips 245E1S monitor is ready to provide you with a superior user experience for all your daily activities. The high resolution for a 24" screen will ensure a very good picture quality and intense colours thanks to IPS and Ultra-Wide Colors. With AMD FreeSync and 75Hz refresh rate your games will also be smoother than ever for uncompromised entertainment.
The use of an IPS panel for this display allows for 178/178 degree viewing angles and brings extremely realistic colours: whether you're browsing the web, editing photos or playing video games, the screen will look great. But that's not all, as the monitor's Ultra Wide-Color technology expands the available colour palette, including deeper reds and blues. Whatever you do, you'll enjoy exceptional display quality on the 245E1S.
The amount of detail is also enhanced by the use of QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), usually found on larger monitors. The result? A higher pixel density and an exceptional level of detail for maximum immersion.

The screen is of good quality. The resolution is well taken into account on an old AMD R9 280x card and also on the recent intel A380. It's a shame that the power supply has a separate transformer.
A good screen despite some light leaks, but this defect is rarely absent at this price. I'm going from an old 27 inch full hd to this smaller but much sharper one.
For dual screen office use, it meets the requirements very well. The thin edges are pleasing to the eye, no need for adjustment, the standard is perfect.
It's the image quality that surprises. There is the sharpness of the image due to the resolution on high mountain photos, but also colours that seem very accurate even without a probe to check. The luminosity of the glaciers, the sky, the tints. The image has depth. All this without being flashy, nor exaggerated saturation.
In short, a very balanced image and a magnificent rendering. It makes you want to look at your photos and rediscover them.
A high-performance screen (despite basic aesthetic finishes), suits me perfectly.
The reception of the order was fast and professional.
I bought two screens, received perfectly packaged and without any dead pixels. The stand is not height adjustable but I recommend buying a VESA articulated arm instead.
The screen is very light and has a nice matte panel. I recommend it for the unbeatable value for money at the time of posting this review (August 2021).
First of all I would like to thank LDLC for their after sales service.
I had received a first screen with a large and unusable IPS GLOW, I contacted the service and it was replaced. The new screen still has a light leakage but it is totally tolerable.
As far as the screen is concerned, the quality/price ratio is top.
If like me you don't like the 27 inch screen that I find too imposing, this screen is made for you.
The pluses :
- 1440p in 24 inches, the image is super sharp.
- DP / HDMi / VGA port
- 75Hz so yes it's not much more than a 60HZ and less than a 144HZ but in game you feel the difference between 60 and 75Hz.
- Top colour IPS.
- Gsync compatible
- So yes the stand on the back can be removed to fix it in a 100x100 vesa if you want.
The - :
- Its entry level IPS panel so IPS GLOW and significant light leakage. It's a lottery whether you get a good panel or not.
- No speakers
- The screen menu with 5 buttons is not very intuitive (so much better with a joystick).
Conclusion:
If you want to upgrade to 1440p on 24" to work and play on it this screen is for you. I looked for other 24" 2k screens, there are some but limited to 60Hz or TN panel.
Used for dual screen work in the office. Inexpensive, very bright and very space-saving (frameless).
Attention: The maximum resolution can only be reached on the HDMI port, the screen comes with an HDMI cable and no VGA cable... (not a problem for us, we use port replicators that have both interfaces, VGA and HDMI)
Interesting features (resolution, IPS panel)
Very reasonable price
Moderate weight
Price justified by limitations: poor luminance uniformity, average mechanical finish.
This is a great screen with a simple design and a good price/performance ratio. It is a great screen with a good resolution and a good image.
Meets specifications perfectly, very stable stand, low glare. Great. If I had to give a negative review it would be the power supply unit which is not integrated into the screen (as with others) but this is minor and depends on your desktop configuration.
