Overview

For lag-free performance

With the SteelSeries Rival 650, you can be sure of uncompromised gaming freedom. This wireless mouse features Quantum Wireless technology and dual TrueMove3+ optical sensors to give you exceptional sensor tracking. Plus, with 256 weight settings, you can customize your mouse to fit your hand.

Designed for the professional gamer, this SteelSeries Rival 650 mouse will help you take on your opponent.

TrueMove3+ optical sensor

The SteelSeries Rival 650's TrueMove3+ dual sensor system combines 1:1 tracking with advanced lift distance detection technology. So you have full control, even when you lift your mouse. With the secondary sensor, you have true depth perception for lift detection as early as 0.5 mm. Push yourself to the next level with greater accuracy, control and faster movement.

The main TrueMove3 + sensor is a 12,000 dpi, 350 IPS optical sensor designed with PixArt. Instead of just focusing on dpi, TrueMove3 + was designed for true 1:1 tracking. The distance reflected on the screen is exactly the same as the distance traveled on the mouse pad without generating latency and interpolation or affecting jitter reduction.

Customise your mouse

The SteelSeries Rival 650's centre of gravity adjustment system includes removable weights that allow for mass customization. The removable sides allow for easy, stable placement of the eight included 4-gram weights.

Choose exactly the weight you want with a customizable weight system. With 256 weight and balance combinations, adjust your centre of gravity with customizable weight combinations that will provide the perfect balance for any style of play and grip.

    Great!

What to say ... I'll try to be objective but not easy.
I bought the rival 650 (wired) 2-3 years ago and I was not disappointed at all:

    Positive:
    - Exceptional finish and ergonomics: A very soft and pleasant texture in the hand, which remains adherent even after several hours of play with perspiration.
    - The RGB lighting is easy to set up thanks to the Steelseries engine, both sober and stylish.
    - 3 extra macros (perfect for me) + one on top to switch between the two sensitivity settings.
    - Unparalleled reaction speed with full customisation of DPI and mouse trajectory settings.
    - Ability to add or remove weight and quality packaging.

    Negatives:
    - After several years of playing FPS's extensively in particular, the glue on the grips on both sides of the mouse started to peel off with the heat of the fingers. (I simply removed some of the grips and everything was fine)
    - The cable was getting in the way of my movements and making me lose precision.

For these two reasons I decided to switch to the wireless version of the Rival 650.
Take all the positives that the wired version had and add:
    - Long battery life and full charge in 15 minutes thanks to the cord (just plug in the cord and go)
    - Quick and easy wireless configuration
    - Battery saving sleep mode, click to disable sleep mode

    Conclusion:
A price may be high, but a very high quality product. I recommend this mouse 100%.
Now we have to see if the grips will stay in place.

    Mitigated

The battery of my first mouse broke after 6 months. No worries, LDLC sent me another one in the wake BUT, this one bugs a lot (multicoloured strobe) so much so that I downloaded a software to reset it. I've been using it for a while now, but the rubbers are coming off little by little: I have to put strong glue dots on it, which is very annoying for a mouse at this price.

    A great mouse!

I was looking for THE mouse that would make me go wireless and well I found it!
The finish is superb and the grip is very natural. It's very easy to use, you just plug in the adapter and it works instantly. The buttons are very nice and the thumbwheel is well notched. The battery life is good, so you won't have to worry about it during your long gaming sessions. I would advise you to set your mouse so that when it is in motion, the RGB is turned off, thus prolonging the battery life.
The only "negative" point I could remember is the 3rd side button which is not as easy to access as the others but not unreachable either ;)
In short I highly recommend it if you want to go wireless you won't be disappointed!

    Well, but...

I bought this mouse a little over a year ago. I left a 10/10 review but I want to lower my rating for one reason only; durability.
The soft rubber areas on the sides of the mouse do come off, which is not normal for a mouse at this price. I have to put super strong glue dots under these areas and the mouse tends to stick because of the old one that doesn't hold anymore and leaks. I am surprised that no one has complained about this in the reviews. Apart from that, the mouse is comfortable, performs well and looks good.
