Not enough power to drive the hard drives
I use it to facilitate the connections of my laptop to all its peripherals:
- 24" screen
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- USB key
- 2x 3"5 2TB hard disk
I couldn't understand why my drive was slow, in fact you can clearly hear the head coming to rest from time to time during heavy use. A very characteristic little noise for those who know it. Once my drive was plugged into the USB 3 port of the PC as before, it worked perfectly again.
So a hub that doesn't do much for me except for the Ethernet port, the USB stick, the keyboard and the screen.
I don't like poor quality products that can't do what they were designed to do. This is proof of the incompetence of the engineers who developed them, unless it is an isolated defect. Still, there should be a way to tell the difference.
It's up to you what you want to plug into it.
